Hey, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Um, NO. Imitation is a condensed way of saying "hey look at me I copied someone because I have no imagination of my own."

FAKE: To prepare or make something specious, deceptive, or fraudulent; to pretend, trick or deceive.

    COPY: An imitation or reproduction.

Unless they're also calling it Water Cube, it's just a copy, not a fake.

That's one hell of a poor imitation. The impact of the original one is a lot higher than this one. And it's all caused by scale and form factor. The Water Cube is (more or less) what it says it is; a 'cube'. 5 sides (technically 6), and a huge bubble like completely supportive structure.

This seems a lot less interesting, with almost no impact: it's too edgy, not a cube at all. And I even want to bet that these bubbles are not a structure at all, they're just a facade, attached to an invisible (normal) wall..

A friend sent me the same picture last week. Only the front of the building is illuminated though. It doesn't look anything like the water cube in the daylight.

It says the clip has been blocked in my area. And I'm not even in China. That's some heavy censorship they've got.
