@Xanven: I have a pair of $300 earbuds from [www.bigearinc.com] ... best investment for music I've made recently. There is a lot of talk on this site alluding to audio companies fleecing customers, and I have to say this - some things ARE worth the money.
@Xanven: I have actually. I bought a pair of Westone UM2's. It was great at first but I can't help but feel like $300 will always be too much to pay for universal monitors, no matter how good they are. I'll never do that again. Not to say the UM2's were bad but the price tag just isn't justifiable.
The funny thing is that I catch myself using my iPhone earbuds more and more lately. They just lack some decent bass but aside from that I don't hate them all that much. Thankfully my new Sony MDR-XB700's have plenty of bass to go around and they are actually really good at highs too. I prefer those to the UM2's but they are just humongous. The Westone's are a little cumbersome to use btw which is another reason I'm not using them as much. Every once in a while you have to buy new Comply foam tips because they get disgusting really fast. I always have to clean my ears before use if I want a set of tips to last.
@Jakooboo the Great!: I don't like the plastic disc-shaped ones, like the ones that come with iPods. I like some of them that have the soft plugs like above.
I really don't like the 110's at all. They were not a step up from the slightly cheaper e2c's that I owned prior, and even after letting them settle in, I still couldn't get into them. I then moved up to the SE210's, and I don't suppose I'd go back unless these can actually deliver.
@b3n: You probably shouldn't. Shures create a good tight seal in your ear canal, so as you run, the throbbing from your increasing heart rate will become more apparent, as well as the dull thud and muffle with every step. You're better off with sport phones.
If that doesn't bother you much, then go ahead. They definitely won't fall out of your ears.
I wish I could afford 'em, but I'm really happy with these new Sony's I just picked up.
They've even edged out my former favorite Sony buds that had the wind-up case included.
They just have the right balance of decent sound (for me) and super-replace-ability that allows me to enjoy them without having to be anal about the treatment of my super expensive earbuds.
@closhedbb: I don't know how many people buy phones like these, and keep their music in lower bit rates. I have a good amount of 128 and 320 kbps, and I don't suppose I'd ever go with anything less than my current set. Even at 128, I can hear the difference between certain earbuds. The SE210's suit me so much more.

Disclosure: The left ear did stop working on mine after about 4 months.
Disclosure 2: I sent them to Maximo and they replaced them for free.

There's always option C: using a good set of speakers set on a volume that's both relaxing and perfectly audible.
