How can the SE110's be the winner? It lacks some serious bass depth to be counted as the winner O.o Shure (Pun intended) they are very good at isolation with the foam tips on, and durability is ok but the sound isn't.. They are no way near balanced, and just sound crap.
@matt buchanan: Agreed. I was disappointed and annoyed at my pair of SE110's because of their apparent inferiority to my previous set of e2c's, which I loved but lost to cable breakage. The SE210's are the sweet spot for me, though are pricey at $250. Still rocking them for over a year though, so they were definitely worth the money.
Would the Ultimate Ears metro.fi 2 be a suitable next step/jump up from some Sennheiser CX300s? I like the sound quality but the cable noise is nauseating. It seems like I can get the Shure SE110 for around $50 as well, so that might be better.
@Dafrety: If cable noise is a pet peeve, maybe avoid the metro.fis. You'll lose a little bass and loudness (compared to the metros, not the CXs) by going with the SE110s, but you'll have a better experience all around.
I love my v-moda vibe duos. I love them even more after a coworker pointed out that I could use them as standard windows headphones as well if I wrap a rubber band around them to keep the 'talk' button depressed.
It's not the headphones that aren't compapatible with the 3G, it's the 3G that is lacking. There is a forth band on these headphones which the headphone jack in the 3G doesn't support.
also want to add that I had Shure SE110s and I hated them, dunno, call me deaf but the base was so poor for in-ear headphones I felt cheated after spending over 100$ on them, returned them week after. Ended up with sennheiser headphones (don't remember version) and very happy indeed.
@Zeuxis: Add me to the list of people who don't like the SE110's. The e2c's were superior to this, and it's worse that these are supposed to be replacements for them, AND cost more than their predecessors did. The SE210's have better sound, and although they're not bass-happy, have much better range than the 110's.
@m4ximusprim3: Man I hate it when people wear studio headphones around like they are earbuds. They look like idiots, not to mention if there was a giant fire, they wouldn't hear anything.
Apple makes great flagship products, but the accessories are usually mediocre... With all of the 3rd party companies creating superior products nobody needs really needs to buy these. They are for the uneducated super-fanboy masses. I'll take 3!
I'm really glad I didn't plunk down any money on that 1G iPod touch. It has no support from the port plug FM remote at all, and seems can't support the latest either. What a crappy first run.
@Kaiser-Machead: I might get the regular iPod earphones with the mic instead, just so I can use the Skype app on my touch. Any confirmation of this working?
@getz76: Click the link. The response chart is on the bottom of the Apple page. Not so good for that price. Pick up the Shure or the Etymotic at that price.
@getz76: The response chart looks good to me (great in the bass, a little choppy on the high end) although that's no reason to like these things. Response charts are often false indicators of how good things sound.

Since we have PROmote, can we get a DEmote option for idiots like this?
