Thankfully, my laptop usage will mainly be purely consumer-type stuff with its native display (movies and such, which look brilliant on the new Macs), and at home I'll just hook it up to my HP when I want to do something that requires a lot of real estate and good color management.
This sucks though. Mac displays were among the best to use, whether it be the ACD's or the laptop panels. Every single Mac laptop should have the option for a matte display as well. I personally don't care, but a lot of people don't like glossy.
@Ashwin Panday: Okay, I can excuse the misspelling of screen, I can overlook the Euro-spelling of color, I'll even ignore your ebonicesque spelling of better. But no way in hell will I allow you to misspell MacBook. I mean sweet Jesus, if you like Apple products, have the common decency to spell their products correctly.
@Ashwin Panday: Not really. My LG special beats out most of the iMacs I use. And my cheap HP has better color than my friend's MacBook Pro. (And yes, we calibrate our displays because we work with digital artwork.)
@God: Betta is not Ebonic-esque. It's a general dialect shared by NY cabbies, West Indians and people who live in Utica (who happen to love steamed hams).

keep on refreshing and you will be able to get the model you want, just don't expect to nail it the first few times around.
