    Sure he/she didn't have the iPhone in the pocket of a pair of pink pants? Pants with high levels of ink (like dark indigo jeans and hot pink pants) can have the color rub off.

    i remember dunkin' my cars between hot and cold water and watching the color change. i had a fire truck that went between orange and some color not orange.

    Interesting how the heat is pretty evenly dissipated along the sides. I'm guessing the guy was wearing something red that smudged off onto his iPhone.


    If it were so hot as to discolor, it'd likely be too hot to hold or keep comfortably in one's pocket.

    How much more would it have cost to have a matte-black carbon fiber back housing with a teflon coating?


    I dunno about you guys but the current back housing is almost guilty of looking "cheap"

    @Grendel: But teflon might increase the production cost of the iPhone like $10. That would ruin their 50% markup price.

    Physics says that the color black is able to radiate (or in this case dissipate) heat better than white.
