So, the argument is that the iPhone is a fashion accessory for those who don't need to get a lot of things done? Most impressive. #iphonevsdroidcomic

If the iPhone had the openness of the Android it would be perfect. But as it stands, that's all Android, as a platform and as the phones, has above the iPhone.
Being a person who's used both, I believe I made an informed decision, not one of a fanboy. I like Macs, not everything Apple comes up with (wtf is with the TV?). So, when I declare the iPhone superior, I mean it as a consumer, not a fanboy. The Joy of Tech is a bit off base here. #iphonevsdroidcomic

ALSO: from experience, I had to look at the "soft keyboard" of the iPhone most of the time to make coherrent typing possible.
With physical keyboards? Not so much.
That said, I have used AndroidOS soft keyboard layouts that are similar (or rival) the iPhones.

That being said, even a shitty designed android phone OR iPhone trumps the potential of a weapon.

If I need to call someone, then I get a minumum of five years for the stick up and ganking someone of their phone.
ON THE OTHER HAND...
If I am in a "breaking and entering" or "aggrevated robbery" scenario, then I'd be in all kinds of mess with the iphone or android phone. Chances of me taking on a gunman with an iPhone or Android phone are lesser than if I got a baseball bat. And if you mention calling, I'll reply in advance by saying that the police and EMS will certainly come...
...right after the rats have taken my best parts to themselves. (They are slow around my neck of the woods. Perhaps you've heard of the six dead bodies with the rapist. Yeah, Cleveland 9-1-1 and Mayor Jackson. Gotta love lack of service!) #iphonevsdroidcomic

Seriously, what significant changes have we seen with the iPhone aside from a few changes here and there?
Meanwhile, the Android system had undergone significant changes, is constantly adapting and is assimilating slowly but surely (like th Borg.)
That, and if Windows Phone ever starts to look more and more like the Zune HD GUI, then they also have a winner in their hands.
It's reason enough as to why I happily got rid of my iPhone and never looked back!
Also: The comic has it reversed a little. By that: When iPhone were the padawan, Moto RAZR were the young Obi-Wan, but iPhone padawan got jealous and found powers and is the dark side (Refer to AT&T Death Star logo for an example of proof.)
But the older Obi-Wan is wiser, stronger with his mind and is more disciplined. And if/when iPhone uses their Storm Trooper (fanboys and PR people), Droid may disappear.
But XperiaX10 is Luke. Sure, he might get his hand cut off, but they take a bite out of AT&T and will likely come back stronger (just like other Androids will.)

I'm also sick of the comparison of stock iphone OS to stock android, and i would think just about anyone who frequents these sites could care less about what stock anything can do. the most interesting question i've seen posted in any forum was this....would you take a jailbroken iphone or a rooted android phone?
i can't answer because my only experience is on the iphone side....but i've been hard pressed to see anything in vids about new android or webOS phones that my iphone hasn't had for months with the caveat being the smoothness of the iphone seems to trump the others. (at least with 3gs hardware....3g....not so much)
not trying to sound like a fanboy either....interested in all the platforms, and curious about what others think about this idea. #iphonevsdroidcomic

I've also enjoyed the feel of an Xperia X1 when that came out too, but I can see where you're coming from.
@MartinLeGood: In that case, we can add an (insert phone here) as the reference. I used the X10 as a means of looking what what seems to be the chronological order of Android phones, but you're more than welcome to alter it any way you'd like. : ) #iphonevsdroidcomic

I strongly disagree with you, in that I see a repeat of the same symptoms of the Sidekick from it's heyday.
Small changes here and there do not a great superphone make. #iphonevsdroidcomic

Actually, I were kind in not mentioning either's initial OS versions. I gave them both a head start with their prime updates. I even allowed their unlocked features before the comparison.
But I see iPhone like Darth Vader, just as I see Sidekick like Darth Maul, which should already be dead already, but really seems to be on lifesupport. #iphonevsdroidcomic

Anyway, you seem to be missing my point a bit. Yes, the iPhone OS hasn't really gone through major revisions, but it was pretty good to begin with. I'd much rather that Apple built on that rather than try and reinvent the wheel every time. #iphonevsdroidcomic

Even without the jailbreak/unlock of the iPhone, when I filled up the memory of the 8GB iPhone, it gave me some serious hiccups.
In the second generation that I owned, I had serious hiccups when I filled it at only 13GB of memory.
Say what you will about Android, but I've run across some pretty stable builds and even got a chance to tweak the UI and OS to my liking.
Even with the repository, it were working with a mess on iPhone, in comparison to AndroidOS, which came as a shock to me. It doesn't re-invent the wheel. Instead, it innovates on it; which is something that can't be said of the iPhone.
Essentially, iPhone is little more than the Apple Sidekick Touch to me. Until it starts to innovate further, it is little more to me than a little modified, "same song" wireless gadget that inadvertently gives itself a shorter shelf life in the long run. Resting on the laurels is hardly a good business scheme, when even the figurative tortoise can win the race.
(Then) Danger Inc. found that out the hard way. #iphonevsdroidcomic

Maybe you just got unlucky, or maybe your needs are more than mine. I would like to give Android a whirl, though. #iphonevsdroidcomic

I see advantages to each of the offerings that are able to be ported (read: No DangerOS), as well as disadvantages operating system and won't give any of them any leeway, since it's disingenuous and frankly does nothing for the spirit of competitive innovation. I enjoy the phones I use and I also chastise each for their areas which they lack.
But I also know that when consumers can say "Hey! This product is okay, but this can be better...", only then do we see people going to the drawing board and not just sit on their laurels, inadvertently later hoping for a buyout (right, Danger, Inc.?)
I remember a few years back, warning their community of phones, like the first iPhone, being in concept and testing phases, only to recieve replies like "Yeah right!" and "Nothing will beat the Sidekick!"
Now? Most of us shit on the Danger Device, with the exception of lil' susie that uses it to talk to her gradeschool friends.
Contrary to what you might think, I want them ALL to succeed. Because when they do, we all get better phones at more reasonable prices and rates.
And that, my friend, is something that neither Ballmer nor Jobs want (despite what they'd tell us on here or on the WSJ.) #iphonevsdroidcomic
