What I haven't heard is any speculation about a GPS chip. The chips aren't that expensive and you don't need a cell phone carrier if you aren't using a-GPS so why not? That would make the touch an amazing device. Pair that with a Verizon dumbphone and you basically have a iPhone without the at&t BS.
@The Lab: Apple's in a tricky spot, though--on one hand they have to make the Touch cool enough that people want to buy it, but not so cool that they buy it instead of an iPhone.
@Lizard_King: Right? How cool is that feature. I vastly underestimated the fun of looking at a map and puling up pictures I took at various locations. Almost makes me like iPhoto, if only it wasn't slow as hell.
@Jux needs a new name for his fantasy football team: To an extent you're missing the point: the iPod is no longer a "music player," it's now a multi-media "lifestyle device" that happens to play music, along with doing a hundred other things. That's been Jobs' goal all along--push people in the direction of digitizing more of their social interaction, and make Apple devices that help them do this.

Actually, I'd love to have an MP3 player with a camera.

What aluminum dock are you talking about? I searched the Apple store and I do not see anything like that
