Along with the above-mentioned pooling problem, this designer has apparently never heard of what architects call a drip edge. It forces water to drip instead of returning along the underside of something. In this case, it would stop the water from running to the bottom of the sphere before dripped on your head. The shape of a traditional umbrella forms a natural drip edge around its perimeter away from your body.

This is so idiotic I'm shocked it's not a Yanko design.

Are approach to preventing rain from getting us wet is all wrong. We need to move to the offensive stance and start attacking the source of our problem, the clouds! No more idolizing them, we shall bring the fight to them.

@Toastie: I agree. So often have I written letters to my congressman to get the government to nuke the sky. After the first couple of times, my letters have not been responded to. I assume that it is because they are too busy preparing the warheads.

Add a Fishin' Lakitu to burn people I don't like, and I'll buy ten.

How about an umbrella that won't turn itself inside out during a hurricane, or if it does, you can just snap the damn thing back the way it was supposed to be...

@Lite's Posse: Is on Broadway: How about you just man-up and allow yourself to get wet? =)

@platoreborn: I live in Seattle. The only time I really use an umbrella is if it's REALLY raining, or I'm wearing clothing that is expensive to clean.
