    I bought one of these when I saw on Giz last week. It was the missing link between my Mac Pro and Home Theater (same room, but a long cable run). I bought a $4 adapter to convert the mini toslink to standard. The $70 was cheaper than adding a separate DVI or HDMI card in my Mac Pro (since I had an unused Displayport).

    Looks great, sounds great. I can use Front Row or Drive-In on the second display (which is my Plasma) and use my iPhone and Rowmote for control.

    I got a similar cable (not this exact one) for $12 shipped and it included a 6' HDMI cable from Buy.com

    @aflecha87: You understand that this Kanex cable includes audio in the HDMI, right? For those of us with lack of inputs, this cable (or the USB audio one from either Kanex or Monoprice) is a godsend.

    @uncjigga: Monoprice cable has USB audio, not digital audio via audio port as this has. Advantage? No drivers needed.

    @Lizard_King: I can see the issue w/ the drivers, but from what I understand its pretty basic configuration for the audio output. As far as the 5.1 goes, its quoted on monoprice as "USB digitally synthesized audio output supports Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 sound." I might just need some clarification, but it seems like it would do the trick as well.

    @Andrew Youv: Oh absolutely. Kanex and Monoprice both offer USB audio solutions, but this is basically a USB sound card in the cable. I prefer the pricier cable for simplicity.

    The USB lead on this cable is for power.

    If it's audio from the USB, I highly, highly doubt that DTS-HD or Tru-HD can be passed through on it.

    If that's the case, then it's a big FAIL for me.

    @SilverBlade2k: Just because it is USB doesn't mean it isn't capable of outputting those signals. Which, last I knew was mostly a software component of sound drivers anyway.
