The Eclipse is replacing the DLX, and it's headline gimmick feature is that the sides light up, rave style. And the VE20 is an, um, RAZR, but slightly less loathsome than usual.

They've both got 3G, Sprint's usual lineup of GPS Navigation, TV, Music Store, Email (which is inexplicably light years ahead of Verizon or AT&T's clients and fairly usable if you can do the T9 thing), etc. The VE20's big feature is the NFL Live package, which has live streaming audio of every game, and in November, video of eight NFL network games. Of the two, the VE20 wins because the UI and screen are much nicer, and they're both $99 with two-year contract and rebates. But overall these are pretty standard consumer-y flip phones, nothing that'll surprise you.

Accelerate your mobile world with MOTORAZR VE20, a high-performing, high-value device that runs on the blazing-fast nationwide Sprint Mobile Broadband Network. MOTORAZR VE20 offers one-touch access to its music player, text inbox and menu controls from its vivid external display to create a dynamic multimedia experience. <![CDATA[Best. Stylus. Ever. (a.k.a. Ninjas > Pirates)]]> The pirate over at Kotaku has just discovered what he's calling the "Best Damn Swag on the Planet," and we're calling "the best stylus ever." It's a stylus for Ninja Gaiden DS, but it's not just any stylus, it's a friggin sword. It even has a little sheath to stick it into! Can you imagine playing Pokemon with that thing? Or whipping it and using it as a stylus in your Windows Mobile phone? "Hey John, give me a sec to check my calendar with my fucking NINJA KATANA." And then you throw the stylus into his eye, officially ending your lunch meeting. [Kotaku]

<![CDATA[PlayStation 3 Violence Continues Katana-Style]]> It's been a month since our last entry in PlayStation 3 Melee Watch, but this most recent instance involves Katanas. Apparently, some home invasionist came knocking on a door in search of a PlayStation 3 (Blu-ray fanatic?), but met with Damien Fernandez and his Katana.

After jumping out of bed and stabbing the intruder in the chest, the two of them ran out of the house, into the street, with Damien chasing after him with the sword. Everything ended peacefully when a K-9 officer found the burglar hiding in a palm tree.

<![CDATA[Sanyo Katana 2?]]> We got this blurry phone pic from a reader that claims it's the sequel to the Katana phone offered by Sanyo on Sprint. Tentatively titled the "Katana 2", the phone will still be on Sprint, but curiously, has a Samsung badge on the inside. The reader couldn't explain why, and neither can we. Strange indeed.

<![CDATA[Sanyo Katana Reviewed (Verdict: Cuts Like a Mid-Ranged Knife)]]>

The Sanyo Katana, Sprint's version of the RAZR, turns out to be a pretty good alternative with some decent features. The Katana looks just like a RAZR, down to the VGA camera. It's available in black, blue and pink, and has a 320x240 screen (larger than the RAZR's 176x220).

The bluetooth profiles support headsets, dial-up networking, and file transfers. The Java performance zips compared to the RAZR, and with Opera Mini, web browsing is pretty satisfying as well.

The Katana is available for $79.99 after rebate.

<![CDATA[Sanyo 6600 Katana]]> Why settle for a two-buck razor (RAZR) when you can have a Katana! Sanyo's 6600 Katana is heading for sprint, and some new pictures have just surfaced of the thin flip phone.

The Katana has a basic VGA camera, QVGA display and bluetooth and comes in black, blue and pink. It's going to be released summer-ish, at $100 after rebates. The rebates coming from the act of signing your soul over to Sprint for a year or two. Katana!
