Got an e-mail that mine shipped yesterday. And I ordered it on the day the announcement was made. So, if people who had back-ordered Kindle 1 were ahead of me in line, might they already have theirs?

Oh please, don't believe that they're shipping it early. this is the old trick they do - they generate a shipping label - which tells whatever shipping service they're using to expect a package - and that way they can say they "shipped it" because they generated the shipping label.

Truth is - it probably won't ship until release date.

@tidybowl: They did it for Harry Potter books, so they arrived on your doorstep the day they were released. I found Amazon didn't send you an email for generation, unlike some other places.
