Freenex DMX-760 Navigator, Now With DMB Picture-in-Picture

Road warriors in Korea can look forward to the DMX-760, a Windows-based navigationa system complete with support for DMB TV broadcasts. The TV can show up in a Picture-in-Picture window, so when you're trying to find the next cross street you can be distracted/entertained by the idiot box. An AV mode lets users connect external devices, such as DVD players and digital music players. More »

    Pantech Curitel PT-S210

This is mostly a camera phone for the kids. It has a 1.3-megapixel camera and MP3 built-in and uses a fairly unimpressive slide-em-out design that is sure to excite the wee ones. Korea-only, right now, obviously, but it'll cost about $300. More »

    Daewoo UMPC: Solo M1

Looks like more than one manufacturer can play the big honking DMB antenna game. This UMPC by Daewoo's computer arm, Lucoms, looks pretty standard and will be available in Korea in May. More »

    Dance, Fatty, Dance, Sez UFO

My family rolled into town a few days ago and they brought buckeyes with them. For those not in the know, buckeyes are peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate, creating a lump of pure lardo-inducing goodness that I can't resist. As a result, I need one of these things. More »

    Samsung SPH-V6800 Slider

You know, I've never owned a slider phone. Strange, really, because I've owned a LOT of phones but for some reason there's not a glut of sliders made for the US market. I think that's a shame. So of course, it broke my heart to see that the Samsung SPH-V6800 multimedia handset, indeed a fancy-lookin' slider, is only available now in Korea. It works with CDMA2000, is Wi-Fi enabled, has a 2-inch TFT display, MP3 / AAC audio playback and voice recognition. Strangely enough, with a phone this great, Samsung only put a 1.3 megapixel camera on this baby, along with MPEG-4 recording, video-on-demand, TV-output and EVDO. Hmmm, odd. Going for about $477. Pantech & Curitel PT-S170

Today we welcome yet another strange looking mobile phone. The only details available right now are that this is a camcorder phone that manages to slide, fold and even swivel. If the transformers ever needed to rock a cell phone, they would use this. It is debuting in South Korea and we can hope it never comes stateside. More »

    Self Guard Spy System

This thing looks kind of dopey but let's give it a chance. It's a video and audio recording system that looks like a button. Attach it to your blazer, run the wire up to the little handheld storage system, and record a few hours of super-secret spy stuff onto a RS-MMC. Does it look believable? I suppose so, but I'd suspect an eagle-eyed counter-spy would see through your ruse immediately and put you on a big table with a laser that will cut you in half. So then you'll be about the $670 this Korean devices costs AND you'll be cut in half. Bummer. More »

    LG Adds Another Slim Phone

It's not as slim as the LG B2250 tri-band GSM phone LG B2250: Wafer Thin but LG's newest foray into slimming cellphones is the LG U880, a 3G phone just 18.2 mm thick that comes in black, silver and pink. It also comes with 75 megabytes of built-in memory, Bluetooth, and an MP3 player. And of course, no 3G phone from Korea is complete without the swivel camera with flash. Will definitely be released in the UK, but no word about the US as of yet. More »

    More Info on Samsung SPH-V7900

We broke the Samsung SPH-V700 about a week and a half ago but have finally got some more info on the 3GB hard disk cellphone. Created to be an entertainment product as well as a phone, it is said to support MPEG-4/H.264 (for video) and MPEG-4 AAC/AAC+ (for audio). Samsung also says the phone will store two full-length movies or more than 700 4Mb music files. And to tie the package up nicely, you'll also find a pair of speakers, great for the hotel room. Sorry folks, only in Korea for now but going for $700.

    Thin Plasma Speaker?

This looks a little too crazy to be true. Apparently these super-slim speakers's surface is made out of a thin film type of material similar to that of TFT-like displays, as in, you know, LCD TVs. I don't think this is a REAL display (as in it lets you watch moving pictures on it), but it certainly looks that way. Regardless, these MP-C100 Mirae Plasma speakers definitely have style written all over them. Only available in Korea as far as we know. More »

    Gizmodo Korea: Samsung SCH-V500

    Gizmodo Korea: Samsung Well-Being CX712S

Tired of not getting enough ions? Well, the Well-Being CX712S is for you. This is no ordinary monitor. I emits about 50,000 ions/cc (!!). How many ions is that? That's a lot of ions! In fact, a waterfall emits about 4000 ions/cc and a forest—a beautiful, dappled glade, people—emits only 400! For shame, nature! More »

Sky IM8500 - Slim and Sassy

The Sky IM8500, which is probably going to be Korean-only, is a crazy looking 2-megapixel cameraphone with a very unique and never-before-seen design feature: a center scroll wheel. I wonder where they got that idea from? Perhaps it was from the mythical one-eyed Cyclops or from Earth's orbit around the sun. Interesting. More »
