Case-Mate, the people who used to make zipper booklets for CDs, built the $80 Enlighten case that lights up the Kindle at night by way of an LED-illuminated acrylic overlay. So basically they pulled a Sony: Taking what's right about e-ink, and screwing it up. You don't put anything on e-ink, for the same reason you don't read paper through a film of plastic. We typically don't write up cases, but despite its unique gimmick (okay, because of it) this one looks exceptionally pass-worthy. [CNet]

It's bad enough when pompous over-the-hill watchmakers think they can get into the cellphone business, like Tag Heuer did when it introduced the luxury-for-luxury's-sake $6000 Merediist. It's worse when they team up with an extreme car company to release a still more ridiculously irrelevant phone, like Tag Heuer did when it called up its friend Lamborghini and cooked up the, yep, special edition Merediist Automobili Lamborghini. For $8000, you get the same crappy phone as before, but with the signature angry cow shield on the keypad, and a plaque in place of the crocodile skin. Yes they'll sell a handful to bald Italian billionaires over 60, but how many of those can there be? [Tag Heuer via Gadgetell]

I love when the age-old bicycle gets a redesign, and points go to Joey Ruiter for thinking through the needs of the urban bicyclist, trading speed for agility, and stripping the bike to its simplest parts. But I never thought bike seats could look any more uncomfortable than the borderline rectal probes out there now, until lo, I spotted this rectangular sucka. Joey, you're clearly talented, but I gotta ask, how can that seat be copacetic to the culo? [Core77 via The Awesomer]

As much as I want alternative energy ASAP, I am worried about wind farms. First, they're killing off flocks of birds or at least scaring them the hell away, and now they're making air traffic control jumpy too. Because of their flailing metal blades, radar waves get super screwy around them, and sometimes cause airplanes to disappear from radar. (Cue gulp of fear.) For this problem, a firm called Qinetiq built a seemingly decent solution, layering blades with sheets of radar-slurping glass-reinforced epoxy and plastic foam. It's nice, especially because you can pretty much replace the blade and leave everything else as is. But it's just coming out of the trial phase, and will take some time before it's ready for turbines that are now in place or being built. While we wait, let's talk about them birds... <![CDATA[Asus Lamborghini VX5 Laptop Hides a One Terabyte SSD Under the Hood]]> We spotted the world's first 1TB 2.5-inch solid state drive during CES. Now the world's first actual laptop with a 1TB SSD will be made by Asus.

The company just revealed that their previously announced ASUS Lamborghini VX5 (a 16-inch Intel Core 2 Quad system with 4GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M GPU) will be released with an optional 1TB SSD upgrade.

That SSD is roughly four times the size of what Apple offers in their beastly 17-inch MacBook Pro. So just how much will the upgrade cost consumers? Asus hasn't revealed that particular detail yet—though you know the drill. If you have to ask... [Electronista]

<![CDATA[Lamborghini Murcielago ATV: A Cute Wittle Italian Replica]]> If you're like us, when you think 4x4, you think beer, mud, friends and exotic sports cars with impossible-to-afford sticker prices and impossible-to-pronounce names.

Spotted at Tokyo Auto Salon 2009, this mini Lamborghini Murcielago is really a 4x4 ATV. We're guessing that a Lambo might not make for the best off-roading vehicle—there's not much clearance between the tires and the body for proper suspension—but then again, if we were to spend the $20,000 on this ATV, it wouldn't even be leaving my garage (partially because of the price and partially because of how stupid we'd look driving it).

The Lamborghini Murcielago ATV will be available this April. And if that "Sold Out" scrawling is any indication, it will be in high demand. [Carzi via Jalopnik]

<![CDATA[Hidden Batcave Raises From the Underground to Reveal Shiny Lamborghinis]]> Holy Batman on a bat-pogo bat-stick. I don't know where this underground garage is located—and probably I will never know since it's perfectly camouflaged under a stoned driveway—but who cares. Now that I know that you can build a hidden underground cave in real life, one with an hydraulic system that can lift it to reveal two Lamborghinis, I just care about one thing: Painting my rubber chicken outfit in black and adding pointy ears to the mask. [Thanks Ed!]

<![CDATA[Race Car Chairs Give You Office Pole Position]]> If you feel like you need an extra boost for your office chair races and/or ego, be prepared to pay up as much as $15,000 for one of these RaceChairs, featuring original seats from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati cars. Leather, carbon fiber, aluminum, every single element except a cup holder? For shame. Ray Wert demands his Ford Taurus office chair now!

<![CDATA[Dealzmodo: Free Sirius Radio With Purchase of Lamborghini]]> For most of us, the deciding factor against getting satellite radio are those pesky subscription costs. Now Sirius has just signed a deal with Automobili Lamborghini to offer the car customers free lifetime service of Sirius. One word of caution: The deal starts with the 2009 Murciélago. So make sure you don't buy a 2008 Lamborghini only to find yourself jacked with huge, unexpected fees. [Edmunds] Thanks Frank!

<![CDATA[Asus' VX3 Lamborghini Laptop Arrives, Costs 2% of Real Lambo]]> Asus just gave a new look and hardware upgrade to its Lamborghini laptop. The VX3 edition has a 12.1" screen, weighs 3.6 lbs, and features such luxe amenities as a sapphire-crystal lens on the built-in camera, a handmade leather palm rest and a titanium alloy hinge. There is also the "authentic" Lamborghini logo to show all the kids at school what car you really want to drive when you're a balding 45-year-old with a sizable investment portfolio and two ex-wives. The PC specs aren't bad, but to be expected in a $3,300 laptop: 320GB HDD, a NVidia GeForce 9300 graphics card, Intel T9300 Core2 Duo chipset and 4GB of RAM, plus HSDPA wireless. [Asus]

<![CDATA[Wire Lamborghini Relies on Pedal Power to get Around]]> This Lamborghini made of wire was shown off at the Art Car Parade in Manchester last month. The two guys behind it, sculptor Benedict Radcliffe and pedal car designer Ben Wilson, even managed to get the attention of a British cop &mdash probably the first time a Lambo has been ticketed for going too slowly. See the pic below.

<![CDATA[Lamborghini Artwork Makes Us Weak at the Knees]]> Q. Is it possible to make a Lamborghini even more badass than it is by default? A. Apparently so. Check out the absolutely jaw-dropping, ink-inspired, mother of all things holy and artistic on four wheels.

This super car was spotted by Necromanc and was posted up on his blog today. It is not clear if the vehicle itself had been tuned up to match the phenomenal intricate designs on the exterior, but who cares? It is a Lamborghini. It has the best damn paint job, ever. It is freaking smashing and it goes without saying, but we will anyway; we want it so bad it hurts. [Necromanc]

<![CDATA[Nokia 8800 Sirocco Lamborghini Edition has Awesome Bearings]]> Please make the Nokia 8800 madness stop! This is the latest version of the Nokia 8800 shiny slider phone. This time it comes in special edition Lamborghini style. The specs for this limited edition 8800 are the same as all of the past models. The only difference is the included Lamborghini logo laser-etching and the use of real Lamborghini ball bearings for the sliding mechanism. So does that mean it will slide open at 500 horsepower? If so, awesome!

<![CDATA[Asus VX1 Lamborghini Laptop: Hands All Over, Predictably Faster Than Hummer Laptop]]> PC Magazine reviews the Lamborghini-branded Asus VX1, filling the entire writeup with terrible automotive journalism cliches. They compare it to the iTronix ruggedized Hummer Laptop, and last year's Acer Ferrari Laptop. Predictably, with its 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo T2500 and Gig of RAM "Under The Hood", it's faster than both. Although, in their defense, the tough Hummer can probably get dropped on its grill without flinching, and the newer Ferrari notebook we wrote about will probably has enough "horsepower" to keep up with the Lambo "off the line". Question, dear reader: If a Macbook Pro was a car, what car would it be? Comments!

<![CDATA[Lamborghini Mouse Pad]]>

No, this isn't just some $5 mouse pad with a Lamborghini on it. This is an actual Italian leather Lamborghini mousepad, made by the same people who bring you those fancy horseless wagons with all the horses under the hood.

The pad is in the shape of the Lamborghini crest, but doesn't have the actual crest design. We're not sure how much it costs, but it's sure to be less than the $500 F1 Mouse Pad.

Update: It's 50 Euros ($63). Thanks Steve!

<![CDATA[Asus-Lamborghini VX1 Notebook: Costly Style, Second-Tier Performance]]> We told you about the partnership announcement between Intel and Lamborghini, and now that's come to fruition with the Asus-Lamborghini VX1 notebook. The VX1 has a 2GHz Intel Core Duo T2500 chip and Intel's Centrino technology with a WiFi adapter built in. Alongside that there's a gig of RAM and 120GB hard drive, as well as a DVD burner. Driving the 15-inch, 1400x1050 display is an NVidia GeForce Go 7400 graphics card with 256MB of memory.

The VX1, offered in mirror-painted black or yellow trim, is sure as hell gorgeous-looking, but we're wondering why a product wearing a Lamborghini badge doesn't have the fastest Core Duo processor onboard and a higher-resolution LCD. You'll pay dearly for all that style, too—the VX1 will be available later this month for $3405.

<![CDATA[Lamborghini + Intel = Laptop?]]> Lamborghini and Intel are partnering to create a line of Lamborghini-branded notebooks. This is a little more involved than the Acer Ferrari notebook deal, because neither Intel nor Lamborghini has a history of manufacturing notebooks. Cars, yes. Chips, sure. Notebooks, nuh uh. The new Lamborghini-Intel laptops will be based on a next generation Centrino platform codenamed "Napa" and will have dual core processors with codename "Yonah." (What is up with all these code names?) "Yonah" will have three technologies incorporated in the design: Intel Digital Media Boost to improve multimedia, Advanced Thermal Manager to manage heat buildup, and Dynamic Power Coordination to optimize the performance of the two processing cores. We couldn't find actual photos or specs of the laptop, but we would be really disappointed if the laptop isn't as sleek and speedy as its namesake.
