And while we like Logitech's Comfort Lapdesk, the new N315 adds a mouse-rest—pretty good for $30.

The washable, anti-slip top has room for notebooks with screens 15.6-inches or less, but definitely isn't as padded underneath as the $40 "Comfort" model. Still, the N315 is thin enough to fit into a laptop sleeve.

Companies like Belkin and Levenger also make decent laptop-desks, but the N315's retractable mousepad and portability are a good twist. Even if it does kinda look like a fast food tray... [Logitech]

<![CDATA[Belkin Laptop Accessories Keep Your Lap Cool During Marathon Internet Surfing Sessions]]> Belkin has unveiled several solutions that'll help keep laptop people like me from burning our tender flesh. Come this October, the bunch of us that adamantly refuse to work from an actual desk can choose between the $64.99 CushTop Hideaway, which doubles as a laptop storage case, or the $39.99 Laptop Cooling Lounge, which uses a fan to divert heat from the body. Having used the smell of searing leg meat as a sign that I've been tethered to my computer too long, I guess I'll now have to find other ways to convince myself to get off the couch. <![CDATA[Create a Worship-Worthy MacBook Altar with the Floater]]> floater_front.jpgCheck out the Floater by Balmuda Design, a stand for your MacBook Pro that lets you close up that laptop, holding it up on vertical display for all to see. Connect your keyboard, screen and mouse for the perfect desktop replacement. Carved out of a solid block of aluminum, it matches the MacBook Pro and even helps to cool things off a bit, acting as a natural heat sink.

Fitting only 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pros, 17-inch PowerBook G4s and the 13-inch MacBook, it looks a precision piece of equipment, but with a precision price of $305. However, that seems to be a paltry price to pay to elevate that laptop into this way-cool floating position, lifting that Mac up, above the great unwashed where it belongs.

But wait. Snap out of it. It's just a goddamned computer, okay?

<![CDATA[Laptop Covers for Dummies]]> Lapstyle calls these "the all new, never seen before" laptop covers, and there's a good reason why they've never been seen before: they are the stupidest accessory ever. The last thing a laptop needs is a cover that makes it retain heat.

If you hate your laptop and it's completely insured, get yourself one of these. Unless you're planning some computing sessions at the North Pole, this is definitely one of the dumbest ways to spend $25 we've seen in a long, long time. This is a joke, right?

<![CDATA[Saitek Notebook Optical Mouse: Purdy Colors, 800dpi Precision]]> The Saitek Notebook Optical Mouse borrows a styling cue or two from Apple's single-button clear mouse from a couple of generations ago, but now it's updated with an 800dpi optical sensor, a rubberized scroll wheel, and of course, more than one button.

Saitek has some pretty stylish-looking peripherals, and this one is no exception. Made small for carrying in a road-warrior kit and complete with a shortened cable length, it's available in these bright and cheery colors, good for what ails you. It's $20.
