As you might suspect, the case is watertight, dust-proof and impact resistant. Plus, the foam interior can be shaped to snugly fit whatever gadget you are trying to protect. Also features a carrying handle, pressure release valve and padlock loops. HW models take the overkill one step further with a pull out handle and wheels. [Odyssey via Core77]

<![CDATA[The Napbook: A Laptop Case That is Soft Enough to Sleep On]]> Like the Pillow Book before it, the Napbook is designed to make catching a quick nap in a public place more comfortable—but the benefits don't stop there. By lying on it, you run less of a risk that your laptop will be stolen while you sleep. Plus, the extra padding helps to keep your laptop safe from damage. Unfortunately, the Napbook is a handmade design sold exclusively in an Apple store in Reykjavík, Iceland—but if you are handy with a needle and thread you could probably make one yourself. <![CDATA[Iconic My Document Laptop Sleeve Now Purchasable]]> The My Document ntoebook folder folder we posted back in May has finally made its way to the US by way of Thinkgeek. Always an expert at setting up shipping agreements with overseas manufacturers, Thinkgeek now offers this for $29.99 + shipping, which is much easier than arranging an import from Taiwan yourself. It fits all notebooks up to 15.4 inches, and it's the best way to attract attention at Starbucks short of pouring a grande latte down your shirt (both men and women). [Think Geek via DVICE]

<![CDATA[My Document Laptop Case is Charmingly Iconic]]> Clever. Monospaced. Bold. Yellow. Those four words can describe this My Document laptop case as well as any others, which is good because our pocket dictionary just fell into the toilet. The design is from 25togo Design Studios, and as hard as we try (which is not that hard) we can't find a price tag or a way to purchase one. You can always email them and see if they'll sell you one manually, but they're in the country which has a country code of 886 (Taiwan), so be prepared to pay a little extra for shipping. <![CDATA[The AirMail: That Manila MacBook Air Case is Real At Last]]> From demo-ware to humor-ware to hardware in a couple of days, the fabled Manila case for the MacBook Air is now for real. Dubbed AirMail, handmade in vinyl and fleece-lined to protect your precious laptop, it even comes with that cutesy red tie at no extra cost. Of course, you could argue that designers Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans have simply created a fake envelope, but that would be just silly. Available shortly for $29.95 [ManilaMac]

<![CDATA[Hands-on With Moshi's CODEX MacBook and MacBook Pro Laptop Cases]]> We've been testing the CODEX laptop cases for the MacBook and MacBook Pro for about a week now and it's actually quite good if you need something to carry your machine—and only your machine—from place to place.

The cases are coated in "Viscotex," which feels like a combination of vinyl and plastic and has a brushed metal look to it. There's a detachable handle and a little holder for your IR remote, and can actually be used as a case while your laptop's in use.

After using it for a week, we can say it's a good solution for schlepping your laptop around. We usually go with a messenger bag because we can carry more than just a laptop in it, but for $70 (15-inch), $90 (17-inch), or $65 (13-inch), you can keep your MacBook safe from drops and bumps. Oh, and there's a pink 13-inch version for unicorn lovers as well.

The construction quality is solid, and will definitely be able to absorb shocks either by itself or as another cushion inside a backpack. There are two straps inside each case to secure the laptop as well.

And when your MacBook's in use, you can flip the case upside down and sit your laptop feet down on four pads so it can be raised up adequately for ventilation. The cases also come with a little holder for your IR remote, which is handy if you're into slideshows on the go.

In short, it's a good laptop case with no real defects that we can see.

<![CDATA[Power to the Pizza: Carry Your Laptop in a Pizza Box]]> Disguise your laptop as a pizza with the Power Pizza laptop case, a padded carrier for your fragile devices that looks exactly like a pizza box. It looks so much like a pizza box that, by golly, we think that's exactly what it is. Confidently carry it inside anywhere there's a sign reading "no food," and then smugly display that no, there's no food in there, it's a laptop. Ha ha.

Yet, it's much, much more than a mere pizza box. There are straps inside to hold that laptop secure, and look, on the outside: "Enjoy Your Pizza" it says right there. Why squander your money on some swank $250 messenger bag when you can have this? One thing's for sure, it's a waste of a perfectly good $34.90.

<![CDATA[Tom Bihn Archetype Laptop Case in Cork]]>

We love gadgets but we hate buying bags to put them in, because most only come in boring colors and yet manage to be wildly unattractive. Tom Bihn announced a new laptop case today that seems to be neither: each Archetype costs $95, is made to order in Seattle and is initially available in one of four sizes to fit the 13" MacBook, 17" MacBook Pro, 15.4" MacBook Pro, and 12" Powerbook.

The Archetype comes in three styles, Galvanized Majilite (a durable synthetic leather made to look like galvanized steel), Snow Leopard Ultrasuede and Geniune Cork. The first two we couldn't care less about as they're kind of, well, tacky, but we do love the look of the Cork-covered Archetype, which manages to be clean and modern while still having personality.
