Not seeing it. I have a compact Timbuk2 backpack and a larger OGIO, both in basic black. None of these provide a compelling reason to buy. They're loud, cluttery, and look overly bulky.

When I got my Mini 9 I picked up a Maxpedition Colossus Versipack, which has been so awesome that I loathe the thought of getting anything with larger than a 9. whatever-inch screen to replace it!

I'm more fond of tougher materials.

THESE however, seem pretty cool as well.

@Save me: I bought one over a year ago. Basically they have spoiled me, I don't think I will buy any other brand but Timbuk2. they are expensive online but you can find them on sale if you are patient enough, they are on sale right now, and a few weeks ago they had all green bags on sale for St. Pattys day.

@pdditty: Timbuk2's Commute bag. They just updated, but I have the previous version in black. It isn't the biggest back in the world, but for most purposes, I find it just the right size. Mine is black, and with the handle at the top, I can carry it around the office like a suitcase.

@pdditty: The Commute is cool. I have 3 messengers. An XS for the netbook and daily Go Bag and M for most travel and a XL for heavy duty travel.

Its the BEST BAG YOU CAN EVER BUY. I am hooked for life

Using your laptop while it's on a pad is a bad idea. They need airflow.

I like them. The one on the right looks sort of girly, and I am ok with that, (so long as it isnt pink). The "elastic organization system" means I can cram a lot of stuff in it too. I really like that. If they are not horridly overpriced I would say they are a Win.

This wouldn't help, if I didn't take my laptop of of its case a TSA person would get all up in my face. What do I tell them, "oh this is a special case that allows me to not take my laptop out" Like they will believe that,I'd end up in some back room with a guy water boarding me half to death or something

@jakeyjohn1: lol, but yeah, thats pretty much how it would end up. From what I've seen they don't seem to pick up the laptop to probe much of the time, although I'm sure there's always that one happy idiot that must inspect the laptop as if he/she were actually able to tell if there was something amiss about your particular model.
