Now Matt, laptop sleeves have their place. I have two man bags that I currently use. One is a standard messenger that I've turned into a camera bag. The other is a Timbuk2 Blogger. I can't fit my camera gear into the Timbuk2 laptop case, but I can fit my laptop into the camera bag, but I use a sleeve so it isn't floating in the messenger bag loose with various metal tripod mounts and hard plastic cameras.
This particular sleeve looks all kinds of useless.
@thechansen: You do realize, thechansen, no one is ever going to read your entire comment. We can't; we're all laughing too hard at the point where you admit to having "two man bags" to finish reading.
@thechansen: You can always get a [www.shootsac.com] for your lenses and accomplish sounding gay when mentioning it and looking like a girl while wearing it all in one fell swoop.
@kaubuchon: Hey, as a photographer, I actually like that Shootsac thingie, thanks for the heads up, kaubuchon. (NOTE TO GIZ: PERFECT GADGET TO FEATURE IN AN ARTICLE)
Now, as for that "sounding gay" part of your comment, I already do that. Every waking moment of my life. No man bag required.
@kaubuchon: That is a fancy looking sack. All the boys will be jealous.
But seriously, I walked straight into that one. For the record:
1) Straight, but realize the act of wearing a messenger bag in certain parts of the country gets you some stares. I don't have the personal hygiene to pull off looking gay. But I try.
2) Prefer that my camera bag doesn't look like a camera bag. The one I use is located here: [www.chromebagsstore.com]
3) Timbuk2 Blogger does look a bit "gay", even though I bought it on the recommendation of Gizmodo.
4) That Shootsac looks awesome for carrying lenses and flashes.
5) Don't bother trying to explain what a Gorilla pod is to your friends. It will always just look like a bizarre sex toy.
@WhiteGuyOnWebCam_GitEmSteveDav...: Nah, I don't think it would be much of a problem at all, especially for the newer Macbooks. Much of the hot air gets blown upward into the gap between the hinge and the top case. A bigger problem might be the heat generated by this material as the notebook sits on it, rather than ventilation blockage. But even then, this would be more of an issue for the older (hotter) 'books.
@Xeno wishes there was a preview button: Actually, yes. I forgot about notebooks that have vents on the bottom case. I was thinking strictly in terms of the Macbook pictured.
@WhiteGuyOnWebCam_GitEmSteveDav...: If it's a Mighty Mouse, yep. Found out that Apple's mouse is rather weak in the optical department. Anything that's too light and/or reflective (even satiny), the mouse will have trouble registering. My $15 Microsoft optical mouse is much better.
Besides, it sort of feels better to use the pad than the plain hard surface for the mouse.
There's a reason articles such as those come up, because people decide that, in lieu of actual input, a relevant joke or the sort, they just sling a little insult at the writer for making this product aware. We don't need "yawns", "firsts" and "How is this news" type comments.
Why would you be mad at Goyard for supplying a product that has an existing demand? Consumer sovereignty is what drives our economy. If you were to say fuck you to anyone it should be the people bought such frivolity but even then you are missing the point. $650 for Louis Vuitton wallet? $1200 for a Ferragamo folder? Why not chastise the entire luxury goods industry for doing what it does best; sell over priced, blatantly branded products to a market that gladly eats them up because of the logo. Wait, am I talking about Apple?
@MarvelaJaguar: Under Goyard's metric of inflation (assuming that the typical laptop sleeve should cost $40), the Goyard Macbook would be priced at $25,000.
@Geisrud: Seriously? I have like six Goynad products! Including but not limited to, the $420 tooth pick holder, the $17,000 suitcase cover, and the $650 silk "Left Nut" testicle holder.
@Anonymoose: It couldn't be fashioned from baby seal skin like the $1200 version, because too many baby seals would have to die. I went with the veal calf version, because there is just more leather on one of those delicious little bastards.
Am I right, or am I right? Wait, I said silk. Dammit, you got me.

Is that genuine Velcro brand hook-and-loop fastener?

And 8 of those minutes was just fighting the Velcro from being all bunched up.

I have three. Various sizes. Friends borrow them all the time.

You'd be much better off just getting a zipper sleeve like the kind inCase sells, and just put a regular mousepad in the pocket.
