    the article says the grenade launcher operates via an electronically controlled mechanism. If that is the case, it seems like the traditional pistol grip and trigger design should be obsolete and replaced with a design that can even eliminate the shooter's need to change hand positions as shown in the video. All you need is a safe trigger placed where the hand would rest in rifle-firing position all along.

    @PrimaveraHoi: +1 on the trigger safety when relocating the electronic trigger for the grenades. Nobody wants to accidentally shoot a round 0.001 seconds after you launch the grenade. "Look at me with my sweet all-in-one weapon, I'm so badass, take this!!! ...Awww I'm dead, done blown myself up. Fooey bananas..." #metalstorm3glgrenadelauncher

    I think you mean it fires at a RATE of 720 grenades a minute. You'd need to have Flash Gordon fingers to reload quickly enough to get 720 grenades in and out in one minute. Also, the Milkor does not have multiple barrels. It has one single barrel, but multiple chambers. #metalstorm3glgrenadelauncher

    Very useful indeed - doesn't require one member of a unit to be a designated grenadier, really.

    @weatherman: It's 5lbs so it isn't abhorrent but yes, you're going to need to adjust your firing position when using this. Notice in the video his hand position is almost 4 or 5 inches in front of where he would normally grip the barrel of an M16. This may also be to the ergonomics of the Milkor's trigger position but it certainly makes an M16 more cumbersome. #metalstorm3glgrenadelauncher
