As impromptu prescription checker/side effect guy for all my friends (somehow med school makes me pretty much a doctor in people's eyes). I've been using epocrates for all pill-related things. I find it really in-depth, and they have multiple levels of subscriptions catered to doctors and the like. If you're the type that wants ALL the details, I would recommend it as it has a disease checker, dosing charts, pill checker... basically the whole nine yards.

@behavin: Hey man! What med school are you at? I'm entering med school fall of 2010...So excited! :) Do you find your iPhone to be used alot already? I suppose you're in your coursework years, right? Do alot of people use iPhone for class related stuff there? Thanks.
