These kinds of all-in-ones totally suck to work on, I dont have 4 hours to tear apart a frickin computer... Gimme a DELL tower and I'll be done in 10-30min. Plus DELL gives me overnight parts. #lenovoa70z

You know what? The A70z would be perfect for people like my parents who don't need an open upgrade path and are operating on a serious budget. Even though it's a business line computer I'd probably hook them up with one as a gift. #lenovoa70z

I do think that Microsoft needs that much needed storefront. For selling softwares and their hardware in a more interesting way than a confusing corporate site.

Kudos Microsoft, that's a step in the good direction. #microsoftstore

It may as well be Microsoft Hardware, except for the huge anti-trust and monopolistic practices tied to actually having Microsoft hardware.

It's good that they're promoting competition for their products in this way. #microsoftstore

@taniquetil: And what do we call Apple? Monopoly?

It has come to my attention that Apple has not went under the scope of anti-trust cop and quite frankly, it scares me shitless. The only "legal" way to have OSX system is to have an Apple machine, Apple frowns upon Hackintosh and would rather see you guys run amock with their pricy hardware.

What boggles my mind is the fact that we keep on slamming Microsoft for having exclusivity WHILE Apple is just doing fine obligating their user to use their stuff and only their stuff...

But that can be explained. 10% of the current market share is belonging to Apple (Source: [www.tuaw.com]) and it does not botter the feds, which always hunt for the bigger game.

If there is anything, Microsoft Store to only contain Microsoft products would be legitimate, but would also be a a nice way to screw their business partners.

    @Zerod Zunaro:

I completely agree that Apple should be under Anti-trust investigation. They are the kings of hardware bundling and software bundling.

I am in fact in support of this new scheme. By Microsoft having a huge front banner comparing the best Windows machines means companies will have to strive to make better machines for lower prices.

The winner in this scenario is definitely the consumer. Microsoft promoting more market competition is definitely a good thing! #microsoftstore

Anything launched with a trebuchet instantly becomes awesome. You want proof? Think about Nickelback. Normally they are weak. In the extreme. Launch them across a field with a trebuchet and BOOM! Awesome get.
I'm sad that my tablet wouldn't survive a trebucheting but am happy to know it obtained awesomeness. #laptops

@Xeno: Apple sued Gizmodo and forced them to always list the name Apple in bold, the basis being that Apple itself is such a bold company.

Seriously - I have no idea. Maybe to help those of us that have eyesight problems. The entire article just reads "Apple" to us. Great work, though a complete sentence might have been nice. #acerleapfrogsdelltonumber2

In reply to ThinkPad's $100 a Year Warranty Service is Actually Pretty Good
I guess I should mention that I have been pleased with Dell's support.

Recently, I had some problems with my almost 3 year old laptop(end of life as far as I'm concerned, just over a month left on warranty.) Dell tried several times to repair my laptop. In each instance, a part was overnighted and a tech sent out the next day, save for the instance that I requested the part sent to me so I could fix the problem to my satisfaction.(if I can't fix it, there's really a problem) Dell basically bent over backwards trying to correct the problem.

After unsuccessfully repairing the problem, despite having replaced virtually the entire machine, Dell decided to do a laptop exchange. The rep informed me that it would be a newer model. Despite the fact that any newer model would likely be an upgrade, especially with regard to the basic specs, I politely voiced my concerns about the resolution of the screen and a couple of my other requirements(bluetooth, I HATE dongles). I was assured that I would be satisfied with the replacement. Less than a week later, I had a new computer.

    What did Dell send me?

A completely loaded Studio 15. And, when I say completely loaded, I mean completely loaded... as in EVERY single upgrade. $1900+

I believe that's called "hitting one out of the park."

We use nothing but Lenovos in our office, and our service experience is exactly why. I've had to call them out numerous times (which happens when you've got a number of computers on site), and Cory's experience is, amazingly, typical. Call them up, have a tech on site the next day.

The fact that so many PC manufacturers offer accidental damage and will come out to your house/office to repair your computer makes me wonder why Apple always scores so high on their service & support.
