Stand-out features include a 5MP camera, FM radio, 7.2Mbps HSDPA 850/2100 (hey, North American importers) and Wi-Fi. The rest of the tech specifications pretty much match the leaked list, but offer little to distinguish the phone from the growing crowd of pop-out QWERTY touchscreen phones.

In fact, the omission of GPS and decision to stick with the decent but none-too-powerful LG/Prada OS make the €600 asking price sound slightly goofy. That said, if you're tired of sacrificing QWERTYness for prettiness, well, here you go. It should be available "before the end of the year" but it'll be Europe only, at least at first. <![CDATA[LG's Prada Phone Soon Out, Could Be Your iPhone Placeholder Til June]]> Maybe this is their way of sticking it to Apple, but LG today officially announced its new Prada phone, also know as the KE850. Aside from the fact that it's black and has a touchscreen, the similarities with the iPhone are minimal...not really. The LG has a 3-inch 400 x 240 screen to the iPhone's 3.5-inch 480 x 320 screen. Unlike the iPhone, LG's phone lacks built-in storage, instead you'll have to rely on microSD cards. There's also no word of its wifi capabilities, if it has any. Still, it looks nicer than many of the other fashion phones we've seen before and the interface, though perhaps slow, ain't bad either. Where it does have the advantage is availability. It's due out next month in Europe, whereas the iPhone still has a ways to go.

<![CDATA[LG and Prada to Make Useless Phone You Can't Afford]]> I've never been a fan of designer cell phones, yet it never ceases to amaze me how many companies keep churning them out. The latest to join the club is LG, who's teaming up with Italian fashion house Prada to deliver a "combination of high-end technology and avant-garde design." The LG/Prada phone is said to have a touch-screen interface with no keys. Granted, that's a step up from other fashion phones, but not nearly enough to make me part with my cash. The phone is expected to come out early next year.
