We’re living in a goddamn Golden Age of television. But there’s also way too much TV to keep track of, and a few shows get the lion’s share of attention. So here’s our list of 16 recent TV shows that haven’t gotten their props. Time to start binge-watching!
Anyone else feel like The Librarians could have focused on standalone episodes this season and been better off? “And the Final Curtain” did nothing to justify Prospero’s existence as a villain and was really an excuse to travel through time and meet Shakespeare.
River Song returns in a new Doctor Who Christmas Special! There are 96 hours of Godzilla on El Rey! Lucy Lawless finally returns to Ash vs. Evil Dead! Happy Holidays, it’s This Week’s TV!
In “And the Happily Ever Afters,” The Librarians ramped up to the final confrontation with Prospero (which I still don’t care about) and delivered us a look at everyone’s greatest wishes.
This year’s genre television gave us high highs and low lows—sometimes on the same show! In no particular order, we’ve rounded up the year’s best moments, along with some of the absolute worst. SPOILERS AHEAD.

At a certain point, as we grow up, we all learn the hard truth that Santa Claus isn’t real. And then, as we grow up some more, we discover that’s a lie, and Santa is totally real. We know this because TV shows—many of them ostensibly for adults—have gone out of their way to show St. Nick as a living, breathing,…
This could just be me, but there was something missing from this week’s Librarians. It just didn’t seem as tightly packed and plotted as usual. The time between the team getting the assignment and figuring it all out stretched out too long.

I don’t know what to tell you about The Librarians. This week they put John de Lancie as the devil and John Larroquette as Galahad in cocktail party to snipe politely at each other. If you’re not watching for things like that, you are beyond help.
Gravity Falls is airing its final episodes. Doctor Who is trying a strange experiment. The Walking Dead shambles off with a midseason finale, and the premiere of Regular Show: The Movie! All this, Gina Gershon, and more, on This Week’s TV!

If there is one thing I have learned from fiction, it’s that finding the lost city of Atlantis is never a good thing. And it looks like the librarians are going to discover that for themselves when season 2 of The Librarians returns to TNT.
A Time Bandits TV series may be in the works. The Flash teases a new superpower for Barry Allen. Get a good look at the concept work behind Batman v Superman’s new costumes.
