My fantasy cruel housewarming joke here in southern California is a large globe-shaped fishbowl filled with multicolored marbles to be placed square in the middle of a mantelpiece. Ideally (and, for gift to work properly), over hardwood floor.
As I said, awfully cruel. And now that I've said it, I'm sure newbies to the state will look out for anything glass and filled with marbles.
man, a lot of what the ADA does is retarded. Why are they trying to cripple innovation? they're impairing inventors left and right, and don't get me started on their tax burden - they cost an arm and a leg!
@Sticks Calhoun: Trophy. In a world where people often avoid puns for fear of ridicule, you fearlessly step out, cheesy line in hand, and say, "Socket to me!"
I wanted one of those but never got one. My brothers got a gizmo that let us bake plastic bugs in aluminum molds that got astoundingly hot. After I made some super realistic roaches and froze them in the ice cube trays before my parents threw a party, the bug-baker was toast.
If she wasn't cute, I would be salty - stock easy bake oven cooking on Gizmodo? If you were using a spotlight in a Ben Heck modded easy bake oven to cook a full-sized pizza that would be another story. What's next, addition with calculators or reading books by lantern light? Oooh, the excitement of new tech!
I remember scorching the hell out of my first little easy bake oven chocolate cake. I ate it anyway and was thrilled to have created something. Now I am all grown up and the cakes come out of the oven perfectly, but none of them will ever be as special as that first burnt offering from my bright yellow easy bake oven.
@Curves: Mine was an olive green easy bake oven that looked like a stovetop oven. I, too, loved the thrill of making cookie-sized triple layer cakes with icing. It was a great way to learn the hard lesson of watching the oven and not trusting the time on the box. Now my big cakes are delicious and well-timed!
