    It should have been easier to have devolped ultra technological sattelites that can produce videos to up a feet away of the to spy on subject.

    Don't most night vision goggles us IR illuminators to see? So wouldn't they spot this "beacon" flashing from a good distance off?

    @LMAO-SteveDave loves this guy->★: So long as you aren't attempting to transmit data into the ground a few feet in front of you, the optics of the binoculars will obscure the source, and any beam spread falling around your transmission target would probably be too weak to notice from very far (if at all). There is always the possibility of some particulate matter in the air scattering a little IR light near the transmission source but that would hardly be a dead give away.


    I also get the impression that these would be used more for stationary defense observation or along strategic perimeters rather than in a full on stealth recon scenario...

    Never say something is untappable, unhackable, undetectable, etc. Somebody will find a way. Saying you can't only makes the hackers/modders/etc. try that much harder.

    Undetectable?!? Use a camcorder and you can see the IR Led of your remote control. If it's electromagnetic radiation, it can be detected.

    @b0bcat: It didn't say the LED light was undetectable, it said the data transfer through LED light was undetectable.


    But if that's true, how does the other binoculars detect the data transfer...oh noes... I think we made the data transfer TOO secure.
