Eating and drinking is another. Playing that I cook food that I can't eat is not. Fortunately, this Personal Cooking Trainer Nintendo DS bundle is about the first two.

The package includes a lime green—which is my favorite—, a nice case, and the game Personal Trainer: Cooking. I won't be using any of them, but it's a good way to get people into cooking that otherwise won't touch a pan with a ten-foot long spork. Yes, that's most of you. [Geeksugar]

<![CDATA[DSi Will Peacefully Coexist with the DS Lite on U.S. Store Shelves]]> The recently-announced Nintendo DSi will not, as confirmed by a Nintendo spokesperson, replace the DS Lite in the U.S. Her reasoning? The DS Lite is in half of all Japanese households, but only a fifth of U.S. households. Apparently this kind of whirlwind success actually means there is "huge untapped potential" for the Lite, so Nintendo is going to let the two brothers sit side by side, at least for awhile. [Kotaku]

<![CDATA[Politicians Gifted Swank Nintendo DS Lites]]> After attending the last G8 summit in Japan, politicians didn’t leave empty-handed or with one of those “your parting gift will be a better, more peaceful world” cop-outs. Oh no, instead they got custom double-lacquered Nintendo DSs depicting a pagoda and breeze of cherry blossoms. And as if that weren’t enough, they received Manga-style caricatures that almost make Condoleezza Rice look personable. Lucky! [MSN via Kotaku]

<![CDATA[New DS Lite Colors Look Like Watermelon and Green Apple Jolly Ranchers]]> A pair of new DS Lite flavors—and they do look more like yummy cherry and lime candy flavors than mere colors—have been spotted on a couple of Spanish retail sites, one of which is GAME, apparently the second-largest specialty gaming retailer in the world, so there's some solid reason to believe these babies are real, or at least as Luke says, we can't rule 'em out. We'll know for sure on June 13, when they're supposed to drop. Hopefully these summer shades aren't Europe only. [GAME via Leonsito @ NeoGAF via Kotaku]

<![CDATA[Hi Volt Antivirus Brings Unorthodox Safety Measure to Your Lappie]]> We've seen awesome Tesla coil art many times before, and the latest addition to the catalog is no exception. With Christmas decorations, a vehicle anti-theft device and allied soldiers all getting the Tesla treatment, it was only a matter of time before the humble laptop entered into the realms of electrical greatness. These images are titled Hi Volt Antivirus and there are three different effects on display. Our particular favorite is the High Intensity Professional version, which is pictured above. Check out the Original and Lite effects, as well as the inactive electrode surface in the gallery below. Jump in to learn what got the magic going.

The electrode in the pic above was attached to a rotating apex, once turned on, the revolving surface was fed by an electricity supply, which gave rise to the effect above via a multiplier. Using various photography techniques, the images above were captured. Disconcertingly, the hot electrode was quite close to the user's face, maintaining a constant distance away by only a few centimeters. We have to ask; when will this madness stop? Electrocution is not cool. [Tesladownunder]

<![CDATA[Rare Inner Beauty: The Asus Nova Lite 2L Mini PC Hides Stereo Under Its Grill]]> Mini ITX machines around the size of a Mac mini aren't rare. But machines like this with stereo speakers built in that look like little precise German lunchboxes of computing power, well, that's not something you find every day. Precise? Yes, take a look at the front mesh and side grills. The single fan design makes this little guy run at 24Db, and in its top config has a Intel 945GC+ICH7 chipset, 160GB of HDD, Wi-Fi b/g, Gigabit ethernet, 4 USB 2.0 ports, DVD multidrive, DVI and HDMI(!). For scale, the Nova Lite is about 9 inches across.

<![CDATA[Norhtec Gecko Laptop is Another Eee]]> Norhtec is set to release a UMPC Eee competitor, called the Gecko, which will run Linpus Linux Lite. The new OS is specifically designed for ultra portable platforms, but the Gecko will not be bound to Norhtec's operating system of choice, as other distributions of Linux and Windows will also be supported. The Gecko will retail for somewhere south of $300, have a 1GHz Via C7M ULV CPU, an optional PATA hard disk and what appears to be a 7-inch display. A formal announcement is expected to "happen soon," but in the meantime, a shot of the Linpus UI should tide you over. Jump for your UMPC Linux fix.

<![CDATA[World's Smallest DS is Real Paper Mario]]> With dimensions of 1.4" x 0.75" x 0.25", the paper craft Nintendo DS is so small, it makes your manhood look like the Maxblaster. The art work was put together by Nintendo fanboy, SonicScape Jun, who has such a steady hand, he should have clearly been surgeon. The scaled replica may not work, but it does have a functioning hinged case and even a teeny-weeny game card, which can be inserted into the main unit. Jump for another picture of the miniature marvel.

nds%20paper%202%20GI.jpgWe know; you are not to sure why, but you want one. We are experiencing the same mixed emotions at this point in time. Luckily, all you need is some glue, a knife, some basic office supplies, Jun's PDF instruction kit and you are on your way. Apparently, it will take 1.5-hours to make, but be warned; your fat, blubbery fingers will probably make this project next to impossible. Stress levels are likely to increase to fist-through-LCD-screen type proportions. For the sake of the LCD, give this one a miss, we beg you. Against our best advice, you can hit the link for the detailed how to. [Tekenstein, PDF Instructions via Technabob]

<![CDATA[Nintendo DS Lite Now in Black and Blue, We Think It's the Sexiest One Yet]]> Circuit City has a cobalt blue/black DS Lite for preorder on their website. Considering three minutes have passed since the last time the DS got a costume change, this makes perfect sense to us. No word on the release date, but as always, it's $130. Get it now to complete your collection and make Nintendo a few more dollars. [Circuit City] —Thanks, Klaus!

<![CDATA[DS Lite Battery Pack Fattens, Extends Your Gaming]]> Even with our extreme weekend Pokemon binges, the DS Lite usually doesn't have to be charged more than once every few days. Which means this DS Lite battery pack isn't for us. But for those of you who go on long car trips or plane rides, this could mean the difference between catching them all or being bored to tears.

According to Kotaku, the power pack gives you over 40 hours of gaming. It comes in the same color as your DS Lite, and can either be set to run off the DS Lite's internal pack, the battery pack, or four AA batteries.

If you can stand the fact that it's as thick as the DS Lite, then you've got a winner.

<![CDATA[Color Coordinated DS Lite AC Adapters for H&G Nintendo Fanboys]]> If you're anything like me, all of your video game accessories must match up perfectly—all my Dreamcast controllers have matching color memory cards, and I gave away a gray Wavebird to complete my set of four platinum ones to go with my platinum 'Cube. So I'm (sadly) extremely tempted by these color-coordinated DS Lite AC adapters by ToyTech, which come in pink, light and navy blue, white and black.

They're $17, which is a small price to pay to satisfy my OCD. God knows, I've paid more.

<![CDATA[DS Lite Mini Card Holder]]> dsholder.jpgEssentially a Mini Me for your DS Lite, this Mini-DS holder holds your precious DS games so they don't slip out of your pocket when you're leaning over to snap your upskirt pics.

As cute as having a little DS is, the fact that it can only hold two DS games makes this kinda iffy. However, if one of those games is the DS-Xtreme DS Media Enhancer, then you've got no problems. Plus, it's only $7.90.

By the by, do any readers have any recommendations for a GBA "game enhancer" for the DS? Turns out the DS-Xtreme only handles DS games and not GBA games.

<![CDATA[18K Gold DS Lite Stylus]]> What do you get for the DS Lite gamer who has it all? Well, nothing, since he already has it. But for the people who don't have it all, this 18K Gold DS stylus could be just the thing to show off their Thurston Howell side.

Heavier (obviously) than an actual stylus, the 18K gold one seems to be only available in Canada or on eBay. I'd sooner trust my $19.99 CND ($17.46 USD) to a Canadian than the weirdos on eBay.

<![CDATA[DS Lite Onyx Gallery - 31 Days Left To Buy Your Wii Controller]]> On November 19, exactly one month from today, you'll be able to purchase your own Nintendo Wii. That means you have exactly one month left to get the only Nintendo Wii controller with a screen—the Nintendo DS.

The DS Lite Onyx has been out for a while, but we thought this was a good time to remind you that it does exist and it does work as a controller for the Wii in games like Madden. Why do we love the Onyx version?

1. It matches our Black Pearl.
2. It's newer than the White (Crystal) DS Lite.
3. It matches our future BlackBook.
4. Darth Vader was cooler than Luke.
5. Affirmative Action.

<![CDATA[DS Lite Now Rocking In Black and Pink]]> gbobject-2.jpgIn the US, on September 13th, the Nintendo DS Lite will be available in Black and Pink, officiallly known as Onyx and Coral. If you don't have one, you should get one. I play the DS Lite far more often than I play the Xbox. Here's a picture of the tough, manly, black one, since I know most other blogs are giving you the pretty pink one. No need to thanks, thats just how we roll. <![CDATA[The Dog Ate My DS Lite]]>

Some careless bloke left his Nintendo DS Lite lying around where the dog could get his mouth on it, chewing it to the mangled state you see here. If the guy would have gotten himself a pet-shocking torture device such as this, his DS Lite would still be intact.

Calling Nintendo customer service, the hapless hound owner discovered that the company was gracious enough to charge him just $50 to repair it, which will probably amount to a full replacement. Imagine that—a new unit for a third of the retail price. If only all customer service operated this way.

<![CDATA[Nintendo Announces Pink DS Lite]]> Nintendo fan boys and girls the world over will be delighted to know that the DS Lite will soon be available in that color of flamingos, a girly-looking powdery shade the company calls Noble Pink.

If you're getting all excited about something like this, well, you're easily excitable, but from what we can discern from Nintendo's Japanese language website, you'll have to wait until July 20th to pick one up for $144. With the addition of this color, soon the Nintendo DS Lite will be available in four colors: Crystal White, Ice Blue, Enamel Navy, and this pink one. We're not really seeing anything noble about it—they should have called it Girly Pink.

There won't be any WiFi in there for obvious reasons, but you can play the Brain Training Game, English DS Training, and Mario Kart.
