I'm part of the litl team and invite everyone to learn more about what we've created, why it might be right for many (not all) people, and why the price is more than fair.
As we said last week, the litl webbook and OS offer a completely new and simple way for everyone in the family to enjoy photos and all the web has to offer.
If you find more and more of your life online (photos, email, social networking, music, casual gaming, etc.), the litl could be right for you: simple, enjoyable, and fun. We're a stark contrast with traditional PCs that are complex, hard to maintain, and designed primarily for work.
So, if you're ready for a glimpse of where we think personal computing at home is headed, meet us and learn more at litl.com.
Best,
James
ps - We addressed our price point in a well-received blog post last week -
"So, take your run of the mill netbook, add whatever expense/time you spend doing virus, updating, upgrades, patches, plug-ins, synching, back-up, tech support, and file transfers for the life of the machine. Add in a one year service plan then add some more because we give you an unconditional money back guarantee not an extended warranty. Add in a killer screen. Then add in the stuff I haven’t talked about such as plug-and-play HDMI, awesome channels, and sweet UI. What’s that worth? Depends on your situation. But for most home computer needs, $350 netbooks are probably too cheap and $1000 laptops are more than you need. litl, at $699, is just right."
$700 for a first laptop for kids, huh? for that it had better be made of titanium with a shatterproof screen. After all, it had better be ready to double as a snow surfboard come winter.
And hey, my 18-month old does just fine on my $600 Toshiba, and all its keys still work. Almost. #litlwebookhandsonvideo
I actually interviewed to work for this company in Boston. I actually laughed when I asked if they were touchscreen and I was told they weren't. Horrible mistake. #litlwebbook
@mikegriffin: Bringing the total sales to 6, the only other buyers having bought review units because they couldn't get some shipped to them to test. #litlwebbook
