    *facepalm*

Seriously, the wonderful thing about the good old red wagon is that it's simple entertainment. I really really really wouldn't want Radio Flyer's version of "Pimp My Wagon," even if I were rich.

...though I guess if they wanted to go all the way they could add spinning rims...

If you would be wealthy, think of saving as well as getting.

At this point, a little clarification is necessary. No child in the target demographic would be drinking Juicy Juice. The child would drink Odwalla and even that would be slumming it.

In fact, the child riding in this wagon would never taste anything that had ever been packaged in a 46 oz. steel can and stocked on the bottom shelf of a supermarket.

I got my little guy the classic steel RF wagon with the all-terrain wheels for X-mas. Set me back $144 on Amazon. Oh how I love the no shipping charges and no sales tax on Amazon.

Last night I was feeling really good about the planet: my local radio station played a couple of songs about bikes! Not cars. Bikes!

Dance Band - "Pedal Power" (Dalida Remix)

City On The Make - "Chicks On Bikes"

After reading this post however, I'm not so sure.

A Radio Flyer with cup-holders? This is solid proof that the Anti-Christ has been born.... the little demonic tyke is probably being pulled around LA by a nanny in this thing as we speak...

It's linked from a site called "Born Rich"... the new money proles...

@MadCrazy: Well put... and propane flamethrower for those-up-close-and-personal moments with that creepy neighbor who collects Precious Moments figurines, and desperately wants to show all the neighborhood kids his basement freezer full of freezer pops.

Wow! I can't think of a better icon to represent the materialistic, spoiled, pampered, self-obsessed, hyper-fragilized, bloated consumerist young-uns of this great nation of ours...YEAH!, I'm talkin' about YOUR kid, you shmuck!...Whaddaya gonna do about it?, go on Oprah and CRY???!!!....

@russdanger: The kids aren't the problem here. The problem is any parent who would buy this manure spreader.

@Counterglow: As a person who lives on a farm, I'd rather have a manure spreader than this thing.

@russdanger: There's plenty of things that better represent overpampered and overscheduled youth of today than this.

That said, this looks to be less sturdy than the old lacquer-painted steel wagons of days-gone-by. I wouldn't buy this because it has too much breakable stuff. The beauty of the old wagons was that they were a bin, four rubber wheels, two axles, a pull-bar and a wooden handle. Easy to maintain, easy to fix, built to last.

From a child's standpoint, I wouldn't have enjoyed this because the seats prevent you from putting stuff in there - like a whole bunch of sticks and rocks, or snowballs, or stuffed animals, or friends.

It has little to do with the spoiling of today's youth and more to do with an unnecessary and impractical update to a time-tested design.

The next four years will take care of a lot of this. We will soon be thinking of food, not gadgets.

@OMG! Ponies!: I must agree with you. I find the same thing has come to apply to cars. We now install entertainment systems into cars, rather than the old fashioned backwards facing seat which not only increased cargo room, but also let kids stare and make faces at, to them, oncoming traffic.

How's a kid supposed to get tetanus from this?!

Less plastic and electronics and more metal and sharp edges.
