You open up the "beak" to turn up the volume, close it to power down.

Designed by Mac Funamizu, Quackie doesn't really seem like it'd be practical once you're over the five minutes of "Wee! It rolls around! Quack Quack! What's that, Quackie? Ya wanna go louder? Ooooopen wide!" childlike glee, but it could still be a nice desk decoration. [Yanko Design]

<![CDATA[Cellphone Concept Has a Sweet Looking Glass]]> This isn't the first cellphone concept to incorporate glass, but I'll be dammed if it isn't one of the prettiest. There aren't any details on functionality, but it is clear that designer Mac Funamizu's "Glassy Glassy" concept takes minimalist design about as far as it can go without ditching the physical phone altogether and implanting communication devices directly into our brain.

<![CDATA[Double-Layered LCD Screen Concept Adds Sense of Depth to Pics]]> Exactly like the old animator's trick of having stacked gels photographed at different depths in front of the lens, this concept display by designer Mac Funamizu has a dual-layered transparent LCD screen. The idea being that by displaying suitable images on both screens, you'll get a sense of depth when you view it. A simple way of adding 3D-effects to things like GPS units? Possibly, or just a very funky LCD photo frame perhaps. Just a concept, but the sort of thing you expect might surface in a real gizmo sometime. [Ubergizmo]
