All you need to do is enter our Made in Eureka contest, where you come up with your own best invention akin to the stuff on the Sci Fi show Eureka and show it to us.

One of the previous entries we've had came from Vic Soto and his iRing, which allows you to control your various Apple devices (iPhone, iPod, computer) directly from your hand. This is the kind of invention we're looking for—kinda out there, but definitely cool if it were real.

Send all entries in to contests@gizmodo.com with the subject "Made in Eureka". Winner gets an iPhone of your color choice. Mock up something that illustrates what your product is and what functions it has, plus shows it off in a nice way. Check out Vic's entry above for inspiration. And no, it doesn't have to be Apple-related. In fact, it's probably better if it's not. Entries need to be sent by July 29 to be considered.

Sponsored by Made in Eureka.
Eureka premieres Tuesday, July 29 at 9/8c only on Sci Fi.

<![CDATA[Made in Eureka Contest Results: iPhone Edition]]> Apparently you all really want an iPhone. Who knew? Thanks for all the hundreds and hundreds of entries that you sent in and we had to sort through. Really. Thanks for that. Now, onto the winner.

Congratulations to Jordan Brough, winner of a brand new iPhone. His invention was the Tongue Jacket that lets anything you eat taste like anything else. Not only does he have a cool idea, it's very Eureka-like as well. Oh, and he did a great job with the art too. We'll forgive him for not having a nasal attachment, since a big part of taste is determined by smell.

Our honorable mention goes to Vic Soto with the iRing. Vic's professional renders (that's what he does for a living!) really convinced us that we need an iRing.

Thanks again to everyone who entered! And also, thanks again to Eureka, A Sci Fi Channel Original Series. Make sure to catch the second episode of the series tonight, at 9/8C.

<![CDATA[Made in Eureka Contest Results: TiVo Edition]]> Thanks to everyone who entered our contest, but thanks especially to Jorge Barrios, who gets to take home a TiVo Series 3. There were only 10 entries that got all the answers correct, and Jorge was the one who got lucky and was chosen at random (out of the 10). Congrats again! If you want to see the answers, hit the jump.

Thanks again to Eureka, A Sci Fi Channel Original Series. Make sure to catch the second episode of the series tonight, at 9/8C.

1) Q. Which invention's name dropped an H because Americans are foul-mouthed and mostly illiterate?

A. The Bic pen was originally named after its French Inventor, Marcel Bich. However the company decided to drop the 'H' from the name fearing that the American market might pronounce the name 'Bitch'.

2) Q. What was invented when a guy couldn't get to his delicious, delicious ice cream in time?

A. The outboard motor. Ole Evinrude was rowing his boat to an island picnic and watched his ice cream slowly melt before he could get ashore to consume it. During that harrowing journey, his brilliant idea was born.

3) Q. What popular product could you make legally in your bathtub, as the formula has never been patented?

4) Q. Jamie Lee Curtis, famous movie star and children's novelist, is the inventor of what?

6) Q. Bonnie Tyler and Celine Dion owe Roberto Del Rosario a huge debt of thanks. Why?

7) Q. Why are we thanking Ed Peterson for our weight problems and wrapper-strewn car floors?

<![CDATA[Contest Reminder: Win an iPhone]]> Hey jubblies, just less than one week left for you to make your entry to our Made in Eureka contest. Coming off from our last entry, which was a great example of what not to do, this entry by Ethan Allison is one that's pretty decent.

It's a toilet that can't overflow, which is made out of a regular bowl and an extra pipe that drains the water in case the water level gets too high. Ethan isn't an actual designer, but fanciful inventions that are pretty cool and useful are what we're looking for. He sent in a bunch of other renders as well, but we'll post them when it comes time to vote.

<![CDATA[Made in Eureka Invention Contest, Win an iPod Video!]]> Contest time again! Who's excited? Yes you are, yes you are! Eureka is a show premiering on the Sci-Fi channel next Tuesday, July 18. I'll let them explain the show.

Nestled in the Pacific Northwest, Eureka is a seemingly ordinary town whose residents lead ordinary lives ... at least to the naked eye. Shrouded in secrecy, the picturesque hamlet is actually a community of scientific geniuses assembled by the government to conduct top-secret research.

So here is the deal. You are going to go head to head with the citizens of Eureka by creating an invention that will revolutionize the world. Here is what is up for grabs: a brand spankin' new 60GB iPod video courtesy of the Eureka folks. You need to create and design an original invention and include some kind of a sketch or mock-up with a full explanation of what the gadget does. Hit up the link here to get an idea of what the citizens of Eureka have been brewing up. Once you have the entire mock-up and description done, shoot it over to gizmodobox@gmail.com with MADE IN EUREKA in the subject line. Contest ends next Tuesday, July 18, so get brainstorming! The usual Gawker Contest Rules apply.

The fun doesn't end there. Sci-Fi is also having a similar contest with a Sony HDTV and Blu-Ray player up for grabs. So head over here to enter the Sci-Fi Eureka contest and tune in to Eureka next Tuesday on Sci-Fi.
