I'm just waiting for the stories about this thing giving carpal or tendonitis to users. I've already heard from one early adopter who's given up on it because it's killing his wrist and forearm.
@Kaiser-Machead: I think SysRq might be a 4channer, where it's common to refer to everyone as "fags" regardless of orientation. Ex; Amerifag, Britfag, Windowsfag, etc. The list goes on.
@David Reyburn: You're half right, I only meant "fags" in the 4chan sense, however I would rather not be known as a 4channer or a /b/tard or any variation of the "awful person on the internet" label.
PCs are fine, I own PCs, I also own Macs. Settle down, guys.
@SysRq: Fag (făg) n. 1. An extremely annoying, inconsiderate person most commonly associated with Harley riders. 2. A person who owns or frequently rides a Harley
Seriously: Fuck you, you callous piece of shit. You're the ignorant dickhead who lobbed the opening volley, apparently not expecting anyone to react to the fact that you used not an epithet, but highly offensive hate speech to make your tired old play for perceived OS superiority. And yet you haven't learned your lesson even now--4chan kiddies rarely possess the social skills to figure out such things. If you had, you'd be apologizing profusely for spewing your inexcusable bigotry in this forum.
@SysRq: Ah, I see. I think the reason that's done on 4chan and not other parts is that being Anonymous allows one to call people fags and not be held accountable.
@2-7offsuit is ioos: Tablets make great mice. I often use a cheap Wacom Bamboo. It's just hard to double-click without moving the cursor if you use tap-to-click.
@(Starman) Starman: My experience is pretty limited, but I'm very happy with my Bamboo (model CTT460M). Very accurate tracking, wide range of pressure sensitivity, simple but effective drivers (you can do 1:1 movement between your tablet and screen, make the tablet move within a screen area (like a drawing window or something) or switch to touchpad mode, which still needs a pen, but moves the cursor from wherever it is like a trackpad, so you can keep your hand in the middle if you like (this is less accurate for drawing - you'll see bigger "steps" in any lines you draw.) My tablet was around $90 CDN so I really can't complain about any part of it!
I think the one RainyDayInterns looks pretty great too - I can't believe the low listed price, and I'd probably get this if I were shopping for one today.
I saw some shockingly cheap tablets over at monoprice.com, but I wouldn't count on great quality - though I've never seen them in person.
Pffft. iFixit got the one they ship to Muggles. If you order from Hogwarts, you get a Magic Mouse that doubles as a Golden Snitch, plus you get an educational discount. #magicmouseteardown

@psychonaut2021: Secrets of the Pineal Gland: yeah but it is worth the money once MacBook Pros will work with it, I hear only the iMacs work until apple sends out the new update, it will make a great portable mouse. Small and thin but not shitty like laptop mice. #magicmouseteardown
Am I the only person that's totally irked by having an essential peripheral that requires batteries and doesn't have a built-in way to recharge them? This is a bad solution to cable clutter.
What would be so wrong with usb-based charging? It doesn't need to last three months between charges - it just needs to charge simply and easily without an external charger or spare batteries. #magicmousereview
@Eddie Offermann: I agree completely, there's a thread over in the 'Magic Mouse hands-on' where I also stated the same thing.
Using rechargeable AAs is not convenient. I agree with the need for charging built-in. Maybe if this one is a success we will see a rechargeable version. #magicmousereview
Someone might want this mouse "supposing that they don't really care about ergonomics." That basically translates into "nobody who uses a computer for more than 5 minutes should buy this."
@ripfire: Ah, yes. I keep forgetting about the need to look good while computing. :)
It might not surprise you to know that I own exactly 3 pair of shoes. Merrells for every day, boots for outdoors, and dress shoes for those special occasions. #magicmousereview
This mouse looks decent. I would have to try it before using it as my primary mouse. I have a nice Logitech one already. Unfortunately I can't use the new MX one because I use either / both hands for mousing and I can't go with a right only one.
Yes, I sometimes use two mice at once. It's easier to use one for my primary computer, and one for the rest of them. #magicmousereview
