    @OMG! Ponies!: Yes. Yes she did. But she assured me, and over the years I have come to accept, that discipline is the essence of a well-lived life. The hats of meat... why, that's just my little indulgence, but I think she would have approved, had she survived the fall.

    I'm thinking if I put my business card on a piece of beef jerky, it might give my clients the wrong idea. I don't know; would you hire a consultant who's phone number was etched into smoked meat?

    Highly impractical. A bacon card would not be suitable for business use.


    Raw: it would not hold its shape and carrying around raw pork in one's pocket is not sanitary.


    Cooked: I don't care that it has stuff written on it with lasers; if you hand me cooked bacon, I will eat it.

    Ribs - not pocketable, prone to be eaten by me

    Chicken - oddly shaped "business card" will not be taken seriously

    Salmon - does not hold shape, will not last past Sunday brunch

    @OMG! Ponies!: You're eating the wrong Jerky my friend. Texas A&M has a meat sciences dept that sells Jerky. Also, La Marais in the city has Kosher Jerky. it's amazing. And of course, New Beef Kin on Bayard -- Wet Jerky. Pork or Beef. Sweet or Hot. Decisions decisions...

    @OMG! Ponies!: Stay away from drug-store stock like Oberto and Jacks Links. Sure, their Messin' with Sasquatch videos are hilarious, but my love of Jacks Links ends there. I've had some great home-made jerky from farmers' markets, and I don't suppose I could ever go back.
