Because Lifehacker and Gizmodo are, and we're going to have a small meetup tonight in NYC.

Here's the place: Black and White at 86 E. 10th St. Special guests include Adam Pash, Gina Trapani, Jason Chen and Brian Lam, who are here from the west coast for a limited time only. All the normal NYC guys like Adam Frucci will be there too.

We'll start heading there at 6 or 7PM, and if you're in the area, come say hello. [Location]

<![CDATA[BTW: Live Stream of Gizmodo Gallery's Arc Attack Concert!]]> Livestream has created an, uh, livestream for us that aggregates six 3G cards and two WiFi cards to get a 1-2mbit stream going. We'll use it to transmit the show tonight at 8pm EST and the rest of Gizmodo Gallery.

Read more about our Giz Gallery 09 here, follow @gizgallery on Twitter and see what else we'll be playing with at the event. And special thanks to Toyota's Prius — without their sponsorship, there would be no Gizmodo Gallery.

<![CDATA[Tonight @ Giz Gallery: Free Pancakes, Arc Attack Concert at 8PM and PSPGo Hands-On For 100 People]]> In case you forgot, we're hosting a Giz Gallery Arc Attack concert today at 8pm. We have space for the first 100 people who show up, and you'll have a chance to play with the new PSPGo.

At 8 PM we'll be clearing out the gallery briefly so that we can setup for the meetup. After that we'll be letting the first 100 or so in to grab a pancake and shoot the shit. And if you want a drink, you're more than welcome to bring your own libations. If you miss the cut off, you can still see the concert from outside, so don't worry too much.

Our big item will be an exclusive public hands-on opportunity with the PSPGo system, so you can decide once and for all if it's up to snuff. There will also be Beatles Rockband, Street Fighter IV and DJ Hero on the 103-inch TV. And Chris Jacob will be around somewhere annoying people with the laser synth-guitar. So for the love of God, please stop by. It will be fun.

We'll also have the ArcAttack performance streaming live in HD during the reader meetup, thanks to the video streaming system provided by LiveStream, which uses 6 3G cards and 2 WiFi cards in aggregate to transmit a camcorder's firewire video signal at a fairly high bitrate. This stream looks good:

<![CDATA[Snowmodo Reader Meet Up: RSVP Now for Event and Bus]]> Our Snowmodo meetup at Northstar-at-Tahoe is only a month away, so we hope you're already planning your trip. If you haven't made plans yet, RSVPing for the event and a ride is a great start.

Our second annual Snowmodo event is going to be an amazing amount of fun, so if you are anywhere near the Tahoe area we really suggested you stop by and take part in the festivities. Even if you aren't a skier or snowboarder, we still encourage you to join. Northstar has activities like ice skating, tubing, sledding, scavenger hunts, shopping, amazing food, even better bars and more. If the extra activities weren't enough, Zune will also be throwing a party just for our Snowmodo event complete with drinks, snacks and music.

Carpool:
For those of you who want to carpool, we would suggest that you turn the comment's section of this post into a carpool thread. For those who have space available in the car and are willing to give a ride to those who need it, please feel free to post a comment stating your availability. We're hoping you guys will be able to work this out amongst yourselves. So, good luck!

You guys basically have two options. We can either run a carpool system that you guys figure out amongst yourselves in the comments section or we help arrange for a private bus. Working out the carpool option is pretty easy but the bus is little tougher. For those who need a ride to the mountain for our Snowmodo event, please read each option's info and than choose which is best for you.

Also, if you're planning on attending and haven't already filled out an RSVP form please do so below. Thanks!

<![CDATA[Giz Commenter Meetup: Watchmen on 3/7 in NYC]]> Looking to hang out with some fellow Giz readers? Also looking to see Watchmen but have no friends to see it with? Let us solve both problems for you. Updated

OMG! Ponies, Kaiser-Machead, Get 'Em SteveDave and '92 BuickLeSabre are organizing a commenter meetup based around the 6pm showing of Watchmen at Lincoln Square on March 7th. This isn't an official Gizmodo event, and I don't think any editors are able to make it, but that shouldn't stop you from going.

Interested? Shoot Ponies (nee Matthew Baron) a private message using our little system here or email him at embee@omg-ponies.com. And may the force be with you all (that's what this movie is about, right?).

Update: OK, so the boneheads scheduled this without checking to see if the movie was sold out, which it is. So just read the comments below and they'll get everything sorted out, or harass Ponies at the email above and he'll let you know what's what.

<![CDATA[Come Have a Drink With Us at CES]]> Hey. You might have noticed, we're back in Vegas and back at CES. Come have a drink tomorrow night.

<![CDATA[Gallery Today: DeLorean, Meetup, Free Shirts, Deathmatch]]> Hey, the Gizmodo Gallery is open again, and we've got some fun stuff happening today and only today, including a reader meetup with free t-shirts and cheap beer. And a DeLorean.

• The DeLorean, with full Back to the Future rigging, will be here at 5pm, parked in front of the Gallery. Maybe we can arrange for rides?

The reader meetup is happening tonight. The Gallery will be closed to the public at 8, but if you're a reader, knock on the REED ANNEX door and say the password ("password") for a private viewing until the drinks across the street happen at 9. We'll also be giving away a few iPhone t-shirts that Jesús designed for the original iPhone launch, and in the bar across the street (The Annex, not to be confused with REED Annex) beers will be $4, which I'm told is some kind of freaking discounted price in NYC. Got that? Full details for location below.

• Matt Buchanan and Adam Frucci have told me they think they can take on ANYONE in Call of Duty. And if you come in and beat them between 4PM-5:30pm, I've got some prizes for you from our giant stash.

Of course, we also have all the gallery items we've run before, plus some newly arrived Bug Labs gadgets and a 20th Anniversary Mac which we're giving away—more later on that.

<![CDATA[Chicago Gizmodo Reader Meetup: Saturday, September 27th]]> Wired's Nextfest opens to the public in Chicago's Millennium Park on September 27th. So we figured it was the perfect time to throw a get-together for the Midwestern contingent of our readership. Those guys in Tahoe and New York have had their fancy parties, and it's time to show 'em how we do it here in Chicago. So everyone's invited (21 and over) whether you're a fan of Giz or just a lowly, fellow tech writer looking to have a night of fun, food and booze on the house. Here are the full details:

The Hotel Sax will be generously hosting us for the party, a Chicago spot that's gotten some accolades for fun tech stuff they've done with Microsoft. We'll be taking up their 4th floor meeting area (you can walk in and take the elevator directly there), a pretty comfortable spot with a 20-or-so-foot wide screen, a big waterwall fountain and an open bar from 8-10:30PM (party goes to 11).

Thanks to their A/V department, there should be pleasant fraternizing with the melodious backdrop of head-to-head Rock Band 2.

As for the location, the Hotel Sax is located right next to the House of Blues and Marina City. Super easy. Everyone from Chicago knows where I'm talking about. Anyone not from Chicago can get there by cab with no problem at all.

I'm planning on a good turnout (we're fast-approaching 100 RSVPs), but do me a favor and email tips with 'RSVP' in the subject line if you haven't yet (and you plan on coming, of course), just so I can get a rough headcount. It'll be pretty much just me representing from the Giz side, but hope to meet you there!

<![CDATA[NYC Giz Meetup Was Successful, if a Bit Soggy]]> This past Saturday, a brave group of Giz readers braved 90 degree heat followed by raging thunderstorms to hang out in Coney Island, drink some beers and watch some totally inept minor league baseball. It was awesome.

Sure, we all got caught in what felt like the storm of the century right when we entered the ballbark. No big deal. Everyone ended up sprinting next door to Peggy O'Niells for some pitchers of beer and some of the most difficult to eat cheese dogs we've ever seen. Eventually, the rain let up, the game started, and we enjoyed our seats near first base while discovering just why the members of the Coney Island Cyclones are on a minor league team: they suck.

It was great to put faces to commenter names, even if it was kind of weird calling people by real names when you just want to call them, say, 92buicklesabre. Everybody was really cool, and despite whatever expectations I might have had, there was not a single socially awkward geek to be found. Sure, there were plenty of geeks, but all of them were more than personable. Thanks to Nokia's Ovi share system and the N95 they lent us, you can see the pictures we took during the meetup and uploaded to the site above.

At the end of the night, we handed out a bunch of fun swag from Nerf, Razer and Steelseries, making plans to hang out again and see the Dark Knight. We'll definitely have another NYC meetup of some sort in the future, but probably at a bar in Manhattan so more people can make it.

Oh, and OMG! Ponies and Kaiser-Machead, who both promised to show up and then didn't? You're both banned.

Now you can enjoy photos taken from our trusty Nokia N95, continually updated as we take them tonight. So go ahead, enjoy our baseball and shenanigans from afar, you lazy bum. Thanks to the fine folks at Nokia for setting us up with the N95 and Ovi share account!
