Unfortunately, the delicate surgeons who gutted the system couldn't confirm if the new 360 is packing an updated 65nm core or not. A 65nm core would mean the machine would run cooler and consume less power than the current 90nm core. Otherwise take a peek at the system's new hard drive, DVD drive, and sexy HDMI slot.

<![CDATA[Trade Your Old Xbox for a 360 Elite]]> Looking for a cheap way to get your hands on a new Xbox 360 Elite system? The guys at Gamestop are giving out some pretty good discounts if you're willing to part with your old Xbox (and I don't see why you wouldn't).

They'll give you $50 for an old-school Xbox, $200 for a Core Xbox (sans hard drive), and $250 for a Premium Xbox (with hard drive). Not a bad deal at all.

UPDATE: We spoke too soon. Turns out that if you eBay your used Xbox 360 you might fetch a few extra bucks. GameStop has the better deal on the other systems, but you can sell your Premium 360 for $300-$400 on eBay (if you throw in some games). It's not as easy as bringing it to the store, but you'll get an extra Benjamin for going the extra mile.

<![CDATA[Ga Ga Goo Goo: Microsoft calls Wii Fans Babies]]> Now that their new Elite system is out, the boys at Microsoft are starting to feel a little high and mighty.

We don't feel like the Wii customer and the Xbox customer are the same thing. We think that as soon as the Wii customer turns 14 they want something else."
Ouch.
That was MS Group Product Manager for the Xbox, John Rodman, calling us all babies:
Gizmodo's breast gadget fixation aside, it's just not true. Perhaps MS hasn't realized that unlike the Xbox, the Wii is still impossible to find in major cities (I should know, I'm still trying). Let's see how hard it'll be to find an Elite two months from now.

<![CDATA[Rumor: Xbox 360 Elite to Debut This Week?]]> After all the leaks, rumors, and Game Informer's now infamous magazine article, Microsoft is ready to make some "very exciting announcements" on Wednesday.

How exciting? The guys at Wired are almost "100% sure" it'll be Xbox 360 Elite kind of exciting. Combine that with the just-leaked production photos and it looks like Wed will be a big day for the Xbox fans indeed. We shall see.
