PMS stands for the Pantone Matching System, a proprietary system created by Pantone to easily match colors in print, plastic, and on screen. It is used by people, especially in the graphic design industry, to ensure that the color that is on the screen will be the color that you see when it's printed/fabricated.
@ErcoleKabobular: I can see the meeting in the conference room now. Four team members are staring at the current logo with blank faces, and then the janitor walks in with an old Windows 95 t-shirt that he has had for years...
@uberlemur: That is a great example of false advertising. The only way you could get Windows 95 to do more than one thing at a time was if you had more than one computer. Well I guess it was better than DOS that really could do only one thing at at time.
Does this mean that Microsoft is going to start making PCs? Or are they going to just expand the XBox up to the point that you wont need a PC?
Remember what Bill said years ago, It is all about Convergence.
Primary colors plus green? I'm having a hard time imagining how this is going to look good. Especially since they plan to install these next to Apple's starkly minimal glass and steel installations. I got a tenspot that says it looks off. Maybe they'll take the stores offline after a year, and reboot with a better design a few years after that like they did with the Zune.
@The Lab: It has been the iconic windows color set for so long that I don't even notice any gaudiness. It actually seems like a reasonably clean/bright look.
@The Lab: There's a lot of speculation going on here with not a lot of support.
Not saying we shouldn't be allowed to speculate, but I've rarely heard so many people declaring something so big that we know so little about as a failure or a success so early on.
@rcast1986: That's all I'm doing, speculating, making bets. However, this looks like a pretty legit document that gives substantial clues to the design of the store: a typeface (Helvetica-clone, edgy!), a color scheme, a mission statement, a dirty XBOX360, and some minority children for good measure. Minority children? Might have just put some clip art in there. Their design document is without style.
And that's the problem. I like Microsoft and hope Win7 is great but the company has never had style. That's OK for an OS but tragic for a physical store and nothing here suggests anything but a complete lack of style.
@The Lab: I don't think Microsoft is going to go insane to the point that they will use Arial. NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING looks good designed in Arial.

I'm going to the nearby malls with some Apple stickers sometime this week... pics of my MacVandalism once I find where my local MS store is being built.
@Miss_fortune: If it's Ubuntu, everyone will want to know why they changed the design of the Recycle icon. If it's Tux, kids will want to know what show he's in.
@RyaninCalgary: I am grateful for the fact that I don't have any 'real' problems in my life at the moment. And my girlfriend is busy with classes Mon-Thurs. 7-5. So she's not there to complain while I find random forms of entertainment.
@RyaninCalgary: It seems these days that the default argument is "you have too much free time." It rarely makes any sense, and in this case: it takes probably 5 seconds to slap a sticker on something and take a photo of it.
@robotsneedhugs2: Exactly, thank you =]
All this negativity... and my original comment was just a joke! Typical, users or sarcasm can't detect someone elses.
@hot_fuzz: I have a pretty damn good sense of humor thanks (look over my previous posts if you don't think so). I just don't find vandalism funny. And I do think there are Mac Fanboys who would do that. If he was just kidding....fine, I apologize for being a dick with no sense of humor. If he was serious, he's a dick and it's not funny. :)
@Bigbadbikernerd: Is it really vandalism when it's only a sticker that can easily be peeled off by a minimum-wage store worker who is glad that he's outside peeling stickers rather than inside listening to the endless, annoying and completely wrong rants of customers who have no idea what they're talking about but act like they do.
@appletoad: I’m going to go to the mall this weekend and put stickers up on the MS store warning about the emerging threat of Ebola in Kinshasa. As my grandad used to say, "it aint vandalism if you’re educating the public about viral hemorrhagic fevers."
They should have put it between a GNC and Fredricks of Hollywood. Because, uh, you know how us Microsoft users are.

It's all true and you know it.
That is pretty good. I don't read many PA, but they keep me entertained when I do. And this next bit is slightly related, but I want a Zune HD right now. In 64gb please.
