Yes, because I really need my desk to look like Poison Ivy has taken over the office with Mr. Freeze while we all cower in fear that Batman and Robbin with nippled batsuits will come to rescue us...

The word "camouflage" is used a bit loosely here.

It's like that orange and pink camo that rappers and people that want to look like rappers wear, but for your cables. It really just makes you stand out as a complete arse as vines have no place on a desk attached to a computer.

Though combined with some dramatic lighting, this would probably make a datacenter look pretty cool.. Like some abandoned alien nonsense they'd find underground after going through the Stargate.

@ScottRose: Yeah, up until you have to demo out that one cable tucked into a "trunk" of 300 other weeds and the leaves keep snagging each other causing you no end of grief.

    No thank you.

@Lite: shops smart. He shops at S-Mart.:

I said it would look cool. Not that it would be practical in any way.

Hey, that's actually a really cool idea!

Not to worry about the "concept" part: you can totally roll your own using pieces and parts from Autograph Foliages or any other artificial plant maker. Michaels might also be a good source if you live in the USA.

DIY-MODO: Buy a wallmart fake potted plant, cut the leaves off (with a bit of stem) and use green floristry tape to attach the leaves and wrap an existing cord.

@CrispyAardvark: Or goto any craft supply store and find those items. Of course, you could always strip the leaves off the fake plant, then return it to WalMart and say it died/got leaf rot, and see if they will let you return it. ;)

Except the only things my cats like to chew on more than wires is plants. I'm surprised they're not catnip scented.

It would still have to be applied properly, since the plant theme would look pretty weird in a room. A good durable extension cord for the outdoors would be cool though, provided there's a good reason to have an extension cord feed out of the house all the time.

Vines all over my desk instead of cables? Truthfully I would have thought Yanko would be behind somethine like this.
Although if you make the leaves solar panels and turn it into a wireless usb/media hub that charges your devices, it would be pretty interesting...

Now that would be a product worthy of Yanko's endorsement.
