@Slartibartfast: what does that mean "stops supporting XP?" XP is pretty much fully baked at this point, and it's not like there are major updates coming out, or any reason that you might have to actually need to switch OS. Perhaps a couple years down the line you might want to switch to W7, but since it's not going to be released for a year and won't be stable for another year after that, I don't really think it's worth waiting for.
That said, rumor is that the early build of W7 that's floating around runs pretty well on this hardware - better than Vista did.
There's a torrent of OSX that's modified to run on this machine, but I can't seem to find it. Assuming it's still alive somewhere, this is the easiest, cheapest way to acquire that 'Mac Netbook' everyone ever has always dreamed of.
there is entire community devoted to getting the mac os on non-apple hardwareâ¦you can make your own with easy to follow instructions. just make sure in advance the hardware you want to purchase is compatible.
@VanMork: I've read about this OSX install on MSI and similar machines, but I've also heard that the MSI wireless card isn't compatible, though there is a replacement card that you can get. Anyone know if that's true or if the issue has been resolved?
