    that's pretty unforgivable for a top of the line product created by a company whose reputation relies on ease of use, simplicity, and reliability - and who charges a not insignificant premium for it.

    @nutbastard: hardware problems are actually pretty frequent with new apple products. they usually work out the kinks, but it can take a while.


    This issue seems to relate to the adapter itself, so I don't see how the new macs are relevant to the issue.

    but DVI and MDP both use the same signal - it's just the pins that are different (AFAIK) just like HDMI and DVI, which is why cheap adapters for these exist. same with S-Video to Component - easy as pie, they both use the RGB standard.
