    Now, are we counting the River or the State? I always imagined I was counting the River (Since we lived in close proximity to it.) Also, where I used to live, rather than counting by Mississippi, we would sometimes count like this: 1 Riverboat, 2 Riverboat'

    or this: 1 Big River, Two Big River

    elementary schools were so pussified when i was in em (1991-1996) - and mine were in small, rugged mountain towns. It pains me to think of how completely wimpy and useless the average 12 year old is in a modern elementary school in a posh area, like Malibu or something.


    I bet they dont even allow flag football. in fact, i'm sure they don't - it's been downgraded to 'touch' football, soon to be banned over a frivolous sexual harassment lawsuit, which will result in the advent of 'close proximity (but not violating anothers personal space while maintaining a non-aggressive attitude) football'.


    of course they've already abolished the utterly barbaric practice of keeping score, so who am i to complain about the postmortem rape of the traditions of early manhood?
