3.5-Inch Digital Photo Frame from HP Small but Chic

There's been a slew of Hewlett Packard products over the past few days and, although this digital picture frame is probably the smallest of the bunch, it's pretty damn cute. Available in Europe at the moment, the frame has QGVA resolution, is SD-, SDHC- and MMC-compatible, can hold up to 45 pictures, and costs $76. Like I said, cute. [CNET Asia]

Deskscape Card Reader Has Curious Bulges

This may not be the smallest or most advanced card reader out there, but the Deskscape sure has the weirdest look. Outside of that, its reading abilities are limited to memory sticks, MMC and SD cards, and it clocks in at $30.77. If you think the unusual design and multiple color options are worth that much cash, knock yourself out. I'll stick with smaller readers with more functionality— thank you very much. Sony Goes Ahead With Movies For Cellphones

Thank you Sony. It's about time somebody came out with movies made for your mobile. I mean, let's face it, with the Video iPod and multimedia phones popping up everywhere, it should definitely be easier to get content for these devices. So Sony Pictures has decided to start introducing movies on 128 MB MMC cards. If you have a cellphone that plays multimedia files and has a card slot, you're in. And I'm shocked, shocked I say, that the company is being so kind about not putting all this on Memory Sticks! This is truly a step forward. Way to play nice Sony! Movies slated for first release include Stuart Little, Ghostbusters, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, and Spiderman 2. One caveat: Don't try to play these flicks on a larger screen because although they should look grand on your small cellphone display, the quality won't hold up on something larger. No word on pricing just yet and the DRM will probably infect every phone in the world and take out the entire Eastern Seaboard, but we can always dream of a world without hate. Anyway, thanks for taking the lead, Sony. More »

Samsung Goes Mobile, Gets Carded

It's about time: Samsung has announced plans for 1GB and 2GB MultimediaCards as well as what they insist is the first 1GB MMC mobile card. With higher densities and faster speeds, these cards should be able to transmit data at 52 MBytes per second, which is about 20 times quicker than older versions. No word on availability or price yet. Let's hope they don't rob us on this one. More »
