Methanol fuel cells produce CO2 as a byproduct. How does this help with the "Greening" of energy? I'd rather see more effort put into solving the shortcomings of Hydrogen fuel cells. Water to Hydrogen to Water seems the most elegant, long term energy storage solution.

@Gregpooh: Well, I imagine if they make the methanol from plants or some other natural product that absorbs CO2 during its lifetime, it would be relatively carbon-neutral.

@FredicvsMaximvs: Like oil which comes from dead dinosaurs which got their CO2 from plants. OMG! Oil is a carbon-neutral resource! Awesome!
