i hope they are just trying to help the dumbest of dumb phones evolve. you know, those phones that are given out free with contract sorta deal. that is the only thing that makes sense to me. as far as competition to the iPhone, Pre, G1, etc. definitely fallin' flat on its face.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. To me the only point of a slide-out keyboard is to have either (a) actual keys your fingers can find by touch and/or (b) more than just number keys, such as special function keys or even a QWERTY layout. This has neither, and certainly nothing that could not have EASILY been replicated on the touchscreen itself and WITHOUT the bulk or mechanical failure points of a slide-out.

It looks like a suppository... you'd probably get more pain trying to use than phone than using it as a suppository.

Perhaps that's the idea. It's actually an ergonomic design, a phone meant for people with their heads up their asses. Certainly a big market for it then.

From now on, when you answer a call from someone that sounds terribly muffled, you'll know exactly what model of phone that caller is using.
