@ipodrulz: The layout is retarded, granted. The keyboard otherwise, though, looks just like my HTC Fuze. I have massive hands - about a 10 inch span if I stretch my fingers out - and I can type on it just fine. I'd probably be more comfortable if there were a little space between the buttons, but it's really not difficultas it is. Still beats the hell out of a touch screen.
Not sure I could get used to that space bar placement, or missing an entire two rows of useful keys from my Fuze...
@badasscat: Not being a fanboy I'm actually a huge fan of Touch Screen keyboards. They give me more freedom, and keeps the screen big but the form factor small.
I'm not just talking bout the iPhone.. I also prefer the Hero over all other Android phones because it has the soft keyboard (Magic doesn't count... cause that thing feels cheap).
It would be nice if AT&T was getting it, although I guess cracking out 700 bucks for an unlocked one would be cheaper than and iphone+2yr contract+30 per month data plan...
You would still have to pay for service regardless of which phone you were to use; the only difference in the plans would be that ATT charges only $15 for unlimited on "dumb" phones instead of $30 for the iPhone.
24 months x $15 = $360
If the new iPhone costs $299 (for the rumored 32GB), you're looking at almost the same price over the two years of owning each phone (N97 is ~$600 for pre-order on Amazon).

The rest of the device looks delicious though!
