    @Jrsy Devil's Food Cake®: They did develop prototypes, however, test groups responded poorly to them on account of how scruffy they were.

    @Kaiser-Machead: Some time back, Wired had a story about this paintball mortar which was wicked cool. I think they were designing a paintball howitzer.

    @Jordan Nagel: Kaiser has an experimental implant in his head that sends a signal every time an article is about to be posted on Giz (and any of it's sister sites too). It's easier to just think of it as his own personal Spider-Sense for blogs..

    Those guns remind me of the rocket launcher and the minigun from Unreal Tournament 2004, the Demoman's grenade launcher, and the medigun from Team Fortress 2.

    @Evangelion: Unreal Tournament is definitely the first thing that I thought of when I saw the picture for the tri-barreled gun. Not so sure about the TF2 medi-gun one...it's a little too long.


    And how well would the gun with the huge barrel work? You'd need either a lot of air compression or a big spring, it seems.

    @Evangelion: My first thought was of UT, though you don't need to limit it to 04, as UT3 also has one that looks very similar. Long live Unreal!

    I'd say that paintball guns are neglected on this sort of thing, but some really look like assault rifles, and some are even affixed with laser sights, so I suppose they win for realism.


    But I'd like a paintball shooter like this, that just gives one giant shotgun blast of paint to the face. I'd call it Blaster of Paris.
