On one hand, Injustice 2 delivers a funhouse-mirror take on DC Comics’ biggest characters, exploring the characters in intriguingly divergent ways. On the other hand, because it’s a fighting game, all the story needs to do is keep ginning up reasons for former Justice Leaguers to punch each other across the world. …
The fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us gave us a world torn apart by conflict between between two of comics’ greatest heroes. Now brutal murderer Superman and “I don’t want to fight you” Batman are back, joining forces against the most diabolical foe the DC Universe has ever faced—loot boxes.
In the Injustice universe, Kal-El wanted to rule the Earth in an ostensibly benevolent dictatorship, but a lot of people ended up dying at the Man of Steel’s hands. Brainiac? He’s coming to Injustice 2 to in an attempt to top Superman’s “achievement” by destroying the whole planet.
Things aren’t looking so good for one member of the Justice League in this teaser for the DC Comics-based fighting game. The hero in question is someone who’s died in the comics but later came back. Really narrows it down, huh?
Bane’s bodybuilding poses make me think he’s constantly humming Right Said Fred’s “Too Sexy” to himself. And when he gets to the “so sexy it hurts” part, that’s when he breaks your back.
“How many more innocent people die before you accept that some lives need to be taken?!” That’s Superman yelling at (presumably) Batman in the newest Injustice 2 trailer. Guess the Man of Steel doesn’t think the Dark Knight is quite dark enough.
One of the best things about the rolling character reveals for Injustice 2 is in seeing just how deep into the DC Comics character stable the game is going to delve. Having the wielder of the Helmet of Nabu in a big-budget video game is a pretty deep cut.
Happy 75th Anniversary, Diana. Feel free to kick everyone’s butt.
