How about the ability to text and email off-line? RIM's only been doing this for years.

Respond when you want - if you don't have reception, the phone will send the message in the background once you do.

Another bug that I notice, though may not be a prevalent issue, is non-responsiveness of the playback window that pops up after double pressing the home button while on hold, or just navigating outside of the music app.

How about "Plays Nice with ActiveSync".

As a business tool, the iPhone is sorely lacking. In order for me to get my iPhone to give me push calendar, I have to have Google Calendar sync with my copy of Outlook and then I have to use Nuevasync to push my Google Calendar to the iPhone. A better method would be to have the iPhone 3G to actually do what a Blackberry has been able to do for years.

@Duc: I shit thee not. I just want to be able to get my work calendar and email on my phone using the platform that most businesses (including the one I work for) use.

I know Apple has an irrational hatred for Microsoft but at some point Cupertino is going to have to accept that Microsoft is the standard for business.

I suspect that this business a round Apple's neglect of copy/paste is that they're stumped on how to make it super easy, but at the same time refuse to dish out a stopgap measure until they can get it up to whatever crazy standard they may have for it. Are there apps that can copy & paste on jailbroken phones right now? If so, can anyone who's tried it tell me if it works well?

Oh come on. You guys know Apple. They aren't going to put in Copy and Paste until Apple thinks it's ready. Knowing Apple's attention to detail and the user experience, they are probably going to hold off on it until it's tweaked just right.

In a nutshell: We are probably going to be waiting for it, but it's for the better.

Also: I wonder if Street View works with the GPS? Because that would make me actually use it. And the public transit support rules as well.

If the idiots at apple don't add copy and paste, I really don't care about anything else in this update. This has been the absolute MOST requested feature since day 1, and they still haven't come through with it. Ugh.

@Hickeroar: If those "idiots at Apple" knew anything about selling phones, they're stop and realize that without copy and paste, they'd never make their sales goals, let alone exceed them by a wide margin.

    Oh wait.

Maybe they do actually know something about making a device that most people want.

You are correct. They have top notch marketing. However they don't know much about making a device that is useful.
