@ripfire: its to prevent people from complaining about apple coverage.
last time it happened people complained, completely oblivious to the fact that gizmodo cant ignore it just because some people are to stuck up to realise that Apple news is relevant to or interests some people.
@OMG! Ponies!: Irony (from the Ancient Greek εἰρωνεία eirōneía, meaning hypocrisy, deception, or feigned ignorance) is a literary or rhetorical device, in which there is an incongruity or discordance between what one says or does and what one means or what is generally understood.
Your definition is neither hypocritical or deceptive and it certainly is not feigning ignorance.
English lesson for the day? You must be the supply teacher.
Kaiserdamus predicts that 68% of the anti-Apple crowd will ignore the Apple-free Giz tags so that they can search for whatever flaw in these releases to give the equivalents of "LOLz told you so", "And once again, Jobs rapes the sheep", "And this is why I won't buy Apple" and some reference to the almighty RDF.
@Kaiser-Machead: Jobs rapes sheep? Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep my lamb away from him.
More seriously though, Apple makes just as many products that are just as crappy as Windows, PC manufacturers, and other tech companies products, they just have a cult following who have a hard time seeing the wrong. With that stated, I have worked with both Mac and Windows PCs and love them both for different reasons, I just think that fanboys should own up when Apple spews out garbage or when they make a mistake. I mean, fanboyism verges on extremism rarely seen outside of religion.
@EqualOpportunityCrasher: People often do own up to their mistakes. Some of their bigger critics type all of their critiques and jeers from the keyboards of Macs.
And Matt, I don't worry about the Unicorns around my parts. The Raccoons with lightsabers have killed them all. Our newest problem is the constant fighting between them and the squirrels who now have lightsabers. You know how many innocent bystanders have fallen due to collateral damage from their battles? If only NJ would allow us to carry blasters. And NY, you're SOL when they learn how to swim or cling to the roofs of busses. Bloomberg doomed you all.
@IH8M_SteveDave: You don't want to mix with them. We've all seen what happens when you bring a blaster to a lightsaber fight. Your own blast gets deflected right back in your face... everytime.

Yes. I could care less about new iPods, but that would require an expenditure of effort which, quite frankly, iPods aren't worth.
And that is your English lesson for the day.

There's some part of me that desperately wants to do that, but another part of me that screams "WHY!?!"
What a conundrum.

Look cool, but seriously, that is on the insane side.

Sure maybe lose a toe or an ear here or there. The stray "lost an eye" injury. But all in all, it sounds like NJ is going a little soft.
