Next Version of Installer.app For iPhone 2.0 Software Looks Like It's Getting Close

These screens were released today by the developers of Installer.app showing Installer 4, the next version that will work with jailbroken iPhones running firmware 2.0. By the slick looks of it, it looks like they're getting close. When it's done, it will be multi-threaded (meaning everything doesn't come to a halt while your sources are being updated) and support package dependencies as well. As you know, we can't wait. Connect360 Mac Streaming Coming for PS3

According to the developers at NullRiver, they'll be porting their Connect360 software to the PS3, allowing you to stream music and video directly from your Mac to your Sony console. The recent update to the 360 version allowed streaming of DivX and XviD, something that The PlayStation 3 will be getting soon as well. After spending the week watching this season of Dexter streamed from another computer on the network, we're high fiving each other over here at the news. [Thanks Dom!]

It's just been updated to support XviD and DivX functionality to match the fall upgrade you installed earlier this week. It still costs $20 if you haven't purchased it before, but you can try it for free to see if it works for you. Connect360 Updated: Let Your Mac Play With Your Xbox 360...Again

For those of you new to this application, it lets the Mac users out there get in on the music, photo and video streaming fun that Windows users have been experiencing on their Xbox 360's for a while now.

This latest update, v3.0, not only lets your Mac properly connect to a 360 that has the latest Spring Update installed, but also has added codec support for H.264 and Mpeg-4 video, even in HD. Too bad it can't decrypt iTunes DRM.

But it does make the idea of spending $300 for an AppleTV a little harder to swallow, especially if you already have a 360 and aren't that into iTunes video downloads – Ben Longo
