Both groups have their own certain charm, and part of the fun of standing around on this thankfully unseasonably warm evening is seeing all sorts of different, yet somehow still all crazy, people hanging out together and sharing their passion.

Here are a few pictures of various people doing their thing while waiting for the Wii to drop.

<![CDATA[Wii Launch NYC: First in line - Triforce, King of the Fanboys]]> Yes, this is the man they call Triforce, the guy who's been here in Times Square for an excruciating 9 days, on and off. "They kicked me off the line like 5 times, saying you can't be on this block." But my friends, Triforce persisted. "I was tired of getting skipped at other console launches. I haven't been that excited about consoles in a while, but I'm finally excited again about this one." As for what his reward will be for his superhuman patience and unbelievable acceptance of tourist crowds and the strong odors of hobo urine and Gyro carts: "I don't know what Reggie's gonna give me, but I want to share whatever it is with everyone here. I know what we're gonna do though, we're gonna take Reggie and hold him up over our heads and pass him down this line." Here's hoping that comes true. Prepare yourself for Triforce, Reggie.

After the jump, Reggie charms the TV-watching public during one of his many, many press interviews.

<![CDATA[Wii Launch NYC: Segways + Wiis = Dork Utopia]]> At about 6:15, legions of Wii-equipped Segways and guys with LCD TVs propped above their heads emerged from Toys 'R' Us to titillate and entertain the front section of the line. While the LCD TV guys didn't have much to do other than hand out stickers, the Segways had big ol' TVs on the front hooked up to playable Wiis. Boy, it almost makes sitting on the sidewalk in Times Square all night for no real reason worth it, doesn't it?

Hit the jump for more Segway pictures.
