I can't believe that Palm is still firing volleys across the bow of Apple! I'm sure the next update to the iPhone will turn the Pixi back to it's former, black self.
Reminds me of when I sold computers at Fry's and we had to call the other store to verify not only the price but if they had the item in stock. If the item was out of stock at the other store, the customer in our store did not get the price match.
Of course, when the Doofus Brothers laid down that particular law, they never thought to consider whether the other stores would have Caller ID. (Not surprising; Fry's didn't have bar code scanners at the checkouts till 2000. The Doofus Brothers sell technology, they don't use it.)
Denying the free delivery after doing a $700 price match actually is stated quite clearly in the price match policy. You can't get both deals. That's double dipping.
Here's the policy in writing, and every Best Buy has hard copies of it. Make them follow it, but don't expect them to break the rules just so you can save money.
How dare you take the side of a retailer! Don't you know that all businesses that that offer us a "choice" of purchasing their products or services for our cash are out to screw us. The fact that they attempt to perform their legal obligation to try and make money for their shareholders is only futher proof of this!
@Piker247: It would be nice if they didn't try and jerk you around, and just followed their own policies without you having to prove them wrong at every turn to get your discount, that THEIR policies grant you.
There is a BIIIG difference between "capitalism", and being a douche bag to your customers to try to prevent under-cost sales, that ARE specifically condoned under certain circumstances by your written store policy.
I'm so sick of these fucking corporate apologists, every time someone accuses a particular store of being a cheap-skate or not living up to their own store policies, they think the criticism is a de-facto attack on the entire concept of capitalism...
Yeah, I am fucking clear on the concept of capitalism, and that stores that make money do better than stores that don't, and the shareholder bullshit, blah, blah, blah.
None of that has ANYTHING to do with what we are talking about. If your store is going to publish policies regarding price-matching, returns, exchanges, warranties, extended-warranties, service-plans, etc. You better fucking well STICK to those policies without me having to chew out a manager in order to get WHAT IS OWED to me.
So, STFU and GTFO, bitch.

(p.s. I'm not sure if I am directing this at Piker or not, I cannot seem to decipher his ambitious sarcasm)
@webster32: agreed, the peeons are just following orders, the management needs to be taught a harsh lesson on what it is/is not okay to tell the peeons to do.
Here's another solution - buy it from the people who are offering the lower price. With so many places that you can buy from online, why go through the hassle of bringing a competitor's ad to BB and persuading them to honor it?
@joestoner: The feeling of knowing that you just got an item for less than the retailer was hoping to charge you for it. (even though another retailer would accept that amount)
This is why my uncle, a collections-attorney in business for over 25 years, owns a 125 year-old 4-story townhouse in Haight-Ashbury. He got rich in the 1987 crash and he's getting richer now.

Will this petty industry bickering never stop?

Most of them are really only good for a few hits anyway.
Personally I'm coveting one of the high end ones myself.

I did have a CompUSA, Circuit City, and Office depot all in the same retail park about 2 miles away. Now, nothing but crickets chirping in the night.
