Did anyone else see the Giz pos this morning that had someone's vision for a sleeker, smaller iPhone, which basically involved getting rid of the excess room around the screen?
I asked a question in the comments, but now the post is gone. Was there a takedown letter? I'm confused
HD screen? On an iPhone.. do you even know what you're asking for?
HD = 720p, or 1280×720 pixels, and up
That's not happening on a mobile device with a 3.5 inch screen. I mean, the iPhone is already incredibly detailed at 160 ppi, and you want even more pixels per inch? Come on.
Actually, anything above 480i is considered HD which means 480p is well within the realm of a cellphone. The HTC Touch HD and Sony-Ericsson Xperia X1 both have screen resolutions of 800x480. Even the HTC Touch and Touch Pro have 640x480. At 480x320 resolution the iPhone has significantly resolution than any of the other smartphones I've mentioned. There are phones which will be coming on the market that have 854x480 so Apple is very much behind the curve on this one and has been for quite some time. My daughter has an iPod Touch. I wouldn't say the pixel resolution is all that impressive. I don't think ragdoll20's points are all that out of line. I think you're blissfully unaware of what's out there as far as screen options are concerned.
@OMG! Ponies!: A rubber tread will more likely piss off my wallet because it'll stick to the damn thing and turn it inside out every time I grab my phone (which is all the time... especially when I don't want to talk to people and fake a call. "Hello, Mr. President. Yes, I'll get there as soon as I can." Yeah, nobody believes it, but at least they realize I REALLY don't want to f-ing talk to them.)
@OMG! Ponies!: I hate phone cases. Why by a nice looking phone only to entomb it in a nasty plastic container? I'm all for phones that terminate any need to be cased.
I just bought a refurbished e260 on eBay a couple of weeks ago for mobile party music purposes, and it's a pretty nifty little player. I just got around to installing Rockbox, so we'll see how much more awesome that makes it (especially when I get a 4 or 8GB microSDHC card to make sure I have all my Christmas music...)
@macslut: And for $0 more you can completely miss the point of having a very small device that plays MP3s and radio. Because everyone needs video when they go jogging right?

And what in tarnation does "sleeker design" mean. Other than another, less-puerile version of "Will be even cooler-looking"

@iChristian3G: Yeah. That one solitary button on the face of my iPhone is one solitary button too many.

A judge tells me to call my client to get more money, I fake a phone call, and then come up with another lowball offer.

Warning - the e200 doesn't support SDHC (Although i've heard rockbox can deal with it, technically, but i haven't confirmed)
ALSO - using the player with a microSD card GREATLY INCREASES DATABASE REFRESH TIMES AND ALSO AFFECTS BATTERY LIFE!
I think it has to do a database refresh EVERY TIME you boot up if you use a card as well.

+ Watch video
My pew-pew player is a Sony NWZ-S618 8GB from about year ago. It cost about $70 more for a real screen, unbeatable sound and battery life...

Oh Sony:
"Make a statement with the slim and fashionable NWZ-E438FBLK 8GB video Walkman MP3 player."
'hey man is that the new NWZ-E428FBLK???'
'even better - this is the NWZ-E438FBLK!'

ugh this site does sicken me...
30$ more for 4 times the storage, a screen, standard USB, no proprietary program, greater SQ...
I have a 2gb Clip and this is VERY tempting...I'm just gunna see how cheap the 4gb gets first.
